The Frozen Party

Last year when Froaen came out all Hallie talked about was having a Frozen birthday party. Matt and I both thought she would possibly change her mind in the following year but she didn't. So now that she was turning 5 it was finally time for the much anticipated Frozen party. I had called all over to finally find a Frozen themed bounce house Hallie was thrilled. But as the date got closer the weather was looking worse and worse. I luckily was able to schedule the church so we had a dry place to play. When the day came I was so glad we had an alternate location because it rained pretty much all day!!

Here is the cake!! Hallie and I had multiple party planning "meetings" in which she picked out most of the party details. It was a lot of fun and gave she and I some alone time to work together. Matt is a rockstar. We were able to put the cake together. I showed him a picture of what she wanted and while I frosted and filled cupcakes her completed the Elsa cake. He seriously amazes me everyday!
Hallie even picked out the cupcake flavors...tagalong with pb frosting, oreo, pink lemonade, and chocolate carmel

Then we had some Frozen snacks complete with character signs

With all the snacks out once everyone arrived we decided to eat while everyone got settled and visited. It was a hit pretty much all the kids sat at one table while the adults all sat at different tables....it was pretty funny
Then we decided to sing and do cake and ice cream. Hallie had a funfetti cake with a blueberry filling layer...mm good

I think she sampled everyone but your only 5 once right ?!?
Gracie was happy to eat the frosting off of the Elsa doll once she came off the cake...this girl loves frosting
Then present time. Hallie got several very nice gifts. She got mostly books which I love for so many reasons.
This is quite possibly Hallie's favorite gift...she loves this Tinkerbell

 Some of our party guests

I could never get anything done without this guy. My partner in crime and love of my life
Never a dull moment with this guy
This was our "prop" to take pictures in front of the kids really seemed to enjoy it

And maybe some of the adults..lol

There wasa bridal shower at the church at the same time they were gracious enough to move to a smaller room so we could have the gym. So we thought it only appropriate to share our bounce house
Then it was time for clean up. We have wonderful friends that helped us set up and take down. They are willing to jump in and help us when we most need it. There help was more appreciated than they will ever know. I really missed having my family there to help me with everything. This is the 1st birthday party we have ever done without them and it was a lot more work for just Matt and I. That is one really frustrating thing with Matt's family is that they are  perfect at asking if we need help just as everything is cleaned up and then leave but we just try to plan for that so we aren't left cleaning up alone....maybe someday that will change. All in all it was a great time celebrating this sweet and spunky girls 5th birthday. Happy birthday to the little girl that made us parents!

Happy 5th Birthday Hallie!!!

Our baby is 5...I can't even believe it. When she woke up I have never seen her so excited for a birthday. She said, "Mom did you know I am really 5 now....I can't believe it." Friday Hallie wanted to have a friend over so as soon as we were up and moving we went to pick up Allie to come play for the day. These 2 little girls love each other and the time they spend together. A couple hours later Jill came to pick up Rigs and Kinley and I was mostly relieved to be back to only having 2 kids. Matt took the rest of the day off so we could spend some time with her for her birthday. She decided she wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse so she could sit on the saddle. We decided since she has been really limited with getting to spend time with Allie since she has school everyday to take her with us for lunch. Hallie was so excited!! It was a fun lunch although the kids spent more time playing than eating

After we finished our food they brought the saddle over. Hallie was so excited for it but when they brought it over she looked nervous but it was only temporary. Then we all enjoyed her ice cream and chocolate before we headed for home.
That evening we were planning on heading up to the ward camp out but the weather was wet and cold. I was exhausted and we decided to just stay home, cuddle, have popcorn, and watch a movie while we listened to it raining outside. This completed day 2 of celebrating this little girls 5th birthday.

Celebrating Hallie's 5th Birthday Bravo Style

Since Hallie's birthday was on a Friday Ms. Hansen asked me to plan on coming to class to celebrate on Thursday. Wednesday night Matt and I decided to give Hallie one of her gifts she had been anticipating for quite some time....he Elsa dress. Her reaction was priceless she was so excited and grateful thanking us several times. Here she is hugging her dress shortly after she opened it.
She quickly had her pjs off and her dress on to make sure it fit just right. I think she liked it
Thursday morning we all got ready and dropped Hallie off at school then the other 3 kids and I ran errands and picked up doughnuts for Hallie's class since that is what she requested. Ms. Hansen asked us to come the last 15 minutes of class so they could recognize Hallie and have their treat. Im not going to lie I was a little concerned about taking the other kids to her class but it worked out well and I think they all had a great time.
Gracie enjoying a few minutes of reading time while the other kids finished their art project
I filled out a sheet all about Hallie and as part of the spotlight Ms. Hansen read it for the class

Then she received a few gifts from her teacher and the school. A pink recorder and a ticket to spin the prize wheel.
This is Hallie's Kindergarten class all enjoying their treat
It was a fun way to drag out celebrating Hallie's birthday and she thought it was so cool. We had a great time and can't wait to celebrate her birthday the rest of the weekend.

Primary Waffle Night

Since becoming the primary secretary I have taken on planning all of the "party" planning. We really struggle keeping our teacher active, involved, and loving their calling so we have decided to quarterly do primary date appreciation nights. Its a great way for the primary workers to get to know each other and the presidency to get to know the teachers. This was the 1st one I planned. We decided to do a waffle bar with the saying we will not "waffle" in our faith and tied it all together with our testimonies. It worked out so well. We had a great turn out(the best they have ever had). Im excited for more upcoming activities. This is our bishopbric member over the primary and his wife
