Summer Days Coming to a Close

It feels like once again that our summer went way quicker than any of us ever wanted. Luckily now that the yard is done we are doing everything we possibly can to enjoy the last days of summer from riding bikes, going to the park. Em is enjoying walking an the new found freedom that has come with it. The girls are all so cute to play together and help watch each other. I love these 3 little girls, their daddy, and the lives that we live. We are very blessed...now back to enjoying what is left of summer

Austin's Farewell Weekend

Saturday morning we got up and got all the stuff packed to head to Idaho. We got there about 5 just in time to join Ris's family at founder days. Em had a ball playing in the little kid bounce house. She is loving her new found freedom with walking.

They also had a big bounce house for the older kids but they were going so fast I found it difficult to get a picture

Em really wanted to get in the big kid bounce house
They all got a turn in this cute train

Then before heading back to Ris's we shared some icees..the girls were more than thrilled with our plans for the evening

Once we got back to Ris' Nick & Brit got there and the kids all had a great time playing in the back yard

That night we went back to our hotel and called it a night. Em struggled sleeping thru the night which meant Matt and I got little to no sleep. We had to be at the church by 11 for sacrament and we actually made it 5 minutes before it started. Church went as it usually does Em was really restless. Preston was my buddy during sacrament meeting and spent most of it on my lap. Austin gave a great talk about missionary work and Im sure will be a great missionary. After we went back to Ris's house and had a late lunch/early dinner. We finally got Em down for a nap and enjoyed visiting. Then about 6 we headed for home. By the time we got home we got everyone in bed and unpacked.  I hate long drives and this was no exception but I was glad we went.

Let the Fun Begin

Friday the girls and I ventured out to run some errands and to have some fun. After running some errands we grabbed lunch and headed to the temple for a picnic. Before we got there Em crashed and fell asleep. So we sat on the grass next to the car and let her sleep while we ate our lunch . The girls loved it and seeing all the horses on Washington.
Of coarse they picked Arby's because they love it and its their fav

Towards the end of our eating Em woke up and while she ate the girls wandered a little to see the flowers

Friday after we finished the mulch we packed up and went to Moviegrille to see the BFG. I didn't really have expectations but ended up loving the movie. I think as a whole we all really liked it. Then after the movie we had tickets to the Raptors baseball game go we just went late and caught the last half of the game and the fireworks(why we really went). We found a grass space to sit.

The kids loved the fireworks and I felt so good as our night was winding down knowing that we had had a good time spending time with our girls and having a good time making memories. Our girls are growing up so quickly and Im so excited to actually enjoy family time.

Yard Progress Aug 5th-Aug 12th

After getting bids back and agonizing about what we were going to do we decided to put in a rock wall by ourselves. So we put it off for a week and got all our ducks in a row and then on the evening of the 4th once Matt got home from work. Since Em was not feeling good I spent my time taking care of her while he worked on the wall and helped Matt figure out where to place the rocks.

Friday night we needed a break from the wall and went to Alpine nursery and picked up the rest of the plants for that section. The wall was coming along great but just not as quickly was we had hoped of coarse.

Saturday the girls were so great to just play and entertain themselves so I could help Matt with the wall.
Monday when we got home from work we had a giant pile of sand waiting for us to be spread out. The girls were in heaven and couldn't wait to play in it. It took way longer than we wanted it to but by the time it was dark most of it was where it needed to be.

Tuesday morning Matt and I got up early and finished the rock wall before they came to pick up the equipment later that morning. Matt got the dirt leveled and all the rocks in.

Then Tuesday night we got most of the plants in the ground. We ran out of sun and then the wind kicked up pretty bad so we finished planting Wed morning early. We ran the sprinkler lines on Thursday night and Friday morning we had the remaining mulch delivered.
All day Friday the girls and I spread mulch. Matt came home about 3pm and helped me finish the last of the mulch. Then we decided it was time to have some fun...see the next post. Matt and I are so relieved to have the yard "done." Although it hasn't been very long really it seems to have monopolized our entire live much like the house did last summer. Im excited to reestablish some fun and just enjoy my little family.

I Don't Want To Be Little Anymore

Emmy has started doing several things that make me feel like she is no longer my baby. Among those becoming an expert walker!!! Yes she has now mastered walking. Its funny because she started walking outside before inside. I think it was mostly because she hated crawling in it. She has great balance and picked up on it very quickly. I am also starting to think she might be out soccer star. As she walks around the house/yard kicking a ball while walking....like I said her balance is awesome.

Hallie was making a coolwhip salad for dinner the other night and I turn around to find Em doing this! I first laughed and then I was sad because it seems like something a kid would do and not my baby.

I think no matter how many times I tell her to stop growing up she does it anyways. I love this sweet baby of ours and although it makes me sad that she is growing Im glad she is hitting those milestones. Her personality shows thru more and more everyday. She fits in great with the other girls and they play so well all together.

Our Week Of Sickness

After boating over the weekend we found out our friends had a stomach bug that we quickly acquired as well. Em started to not feel well on Sunday and by Monday evening she threw up a couple times then seemed fine. Then again on Tuesday she threw up again and had a fever but by later that day she seemed to be good to go.
Wednesday with everyone seeming ok we decided to venture to Tremonton and the Aladdin play
Em seemed fine thru most of the play aside from tired. I thought for sure after the play she would be asleep by the time we got to Grandma's house but she wasn't. I filled her bottle and sat down to feed her when she decided to barf again! All over her freshly cleaned carpet and kitchen floor. Grandma was so great and helped me cleaned everything up and wasn't mad at all. After she threw up I felt like we should head for home but grandma gave her some 7up and crackers and gave me a tour of her yard. The girls begged her to push them They call her "ducky" grandma which I think is so cute and they love to go visit her.

After about an hour I decided we better make a run for home and get Em taken care of. Although she never threw up again she felt pretty yucky and Wed night the diarrhea started. Over the next 3 days we just stayed home and took it easy. I ended up calling in sick to work on Friday to take care of Em and she finally got a good nap in on Friday morning after a couple sleepless nights and feeling so yucky.
Finally on Saturday morning it seemed like there was a light at the end of the tunnel when the diarrhea slowed down and she was acting hungry again. Of coarse fresh air never hurt anyone either.

After Sunday came and no one else was sick  I thought we were in the clear. Monday I went to work and when I got home I found Hallie on the couch feeling yucky. I called in sick for work on Tuesday and luckily after a good nights sleep she was good and ready to go again.
I'm hoping that is all the sickness we have for a long while it doesn't seem like it has been long enough since last winter/spring when it seemed like we were sick all of the time.
