Sometimes Matt traveling has its perks...for instance gets more time off that he otherwise might not when he is in town. Tuesday he was able to work for a couple hours then come home to go with Gracie to her preschool Thanksgiving dinner. Em and I ran some errands and went to the chiropractor while Gracie and Matt had their "date." Gracie was so excited! They had all the traditional foods turkey, potatoes, yams, and rolls. They also had fruit salad and dessert. They had an awesome time and I'm so glad that Matt was able to come home and go with her.

Gracie's Reading
Gracie has come so far with her reading! I'm so impressed with her desire to learn more and more every day. She at times doubts how smart she is but pushes through and is so cute to see how proud she is of herself afterward.

A Stinky Problem
A day last week Gracie said when she went to feed the kitties that she saw a skunk. I went out to check and didn't see anything. Then on Saturday I saw it eating out of the cat food bowl. I didn't know what to do so I just hoped it would go away. Matt said to leave it alone so it wouldn't spray. I threw a rock at it and it just hid under the stairs.
Sunday when we got home form church I opened the back door to see this. I may have screamed. I texted our pest control guy he didn't deal with skunks but told me to stay very far away because they were dangerous. With Matt out of town until Tuesday I was unsure what to do so I text my neighbor Jill. She sent Russ over and ultimately we found that it was dead. Luckily he hauled it away for me so I didn't have to worry about it. I hope we never see a skunk again but Im sure with living in the mountains we will at some point cross paths again

Boutique Time with Cousins
Last Friday with Matt out of town Nic and I got together to go to the holiday boutique in Farmington. As soon as Hallie got out of school we headed down and picked them up. We stopped at Farmington Station and ran to a few store. The kids were crazy excited to see each other and it was hard to keep them calm to do some shopping. Once we got to the boutique I found some clothes and Nic was nice enough to watch the kids while I did so. I found some really cute new tops and a dress. I usually never shop for myself but I have really been wanting some new clothes. I also found out that Nic is pregnant(expecting her 3rd baby). She is due May 25th. Im really excited for them. This picture below is how picture taking goes with all the kids. Although it was crazy it was fun to get out and hang out with Nic

Grandparents Day
Hallie was so excited that Joy was able to come to Grandparents Day with her. Joy said she was an amazing host. She got her lunch and dessert. The class had written poems as well to read to the grandparents.
Im so grateful that Joy took the time to come be part of Hallie's special day. They both had a great time

Keeping Busy While Matt Travels
Often times I do my best to stay busy while Matts gone just because it makes the time go by faster. Last week he was in Florida for 5 days so it was time for a project. Because of stolen bases in the World Series. Taco Bell was giving away tacos so we went through the drive thru and got everyone some tacos.
Then we headed to Home Depot for some lumber, Dollar Tree for for the candles and moss, Michaels for berries, and lastly Smiths for the pumpkins. The girls and I decided how big we wanted to do it then the next morning we used the saw, cut the board, stained them, glued/nailed them together, and then added all the accessories. Although it took longer than the description above it was a lot of fun and cost less than $15 bucks. It was also nice to find the desire to craft again since having Em and building the house I have just lost interest so that also made it a lot of fun. And I love how it turned out
And sometimes while Im in the middle of something this little one helps herself to coloring with her sister and just so happens to color on herself...luckily it was washable and came right off.
