Family Boating Day/ Griff's Blessing

While the family was here for Griff's blessing we decided to make it a lake day. We got there about 10:00 the lake was already busy, the beach crowded, and the wind picked up shortly after we arrived. Not a great start. We played in the water for a couple hours and then after a run in with some white trash rude people we called it a day. We tried to take the kids for a ride in the boat while the other adults packed up the beach and the water was so rough that water was coming over the top of the boat...we were definitely done. It was fun to be together but it was probably the worst lake day we've had yet

Hallie did knee board before the weather got worse
The boys had forgot to put the paddle boards in the boat so Gracie and I had to figure out how to load them. I think we did great and they made the trip safely

Em's love for Maddi hasn't changed and she was her shadow all day

Nic and Ky left early to stop and get the food for the blessing the next day.
The kids were so tired we opted not to go to Nic's for pizza. We got the kids in the tub and before Matt could get Em in bed she was sound asleep

Ward Campout

The girls and I had a great time getting our hair done and then quickly headed to the ward camp out but more for us to just have dinner and visit with friends. I love this Emy and the shadow that she is to me.
While the older girls were off exploring I took Emy to explore and we found this cool little stick thicket

We had a great evening hanging out with friends in the ward and called it an early night. It was fun to unplug literally since there was no cell service.

Gardening and Sleepovers

Our garden is doing so awesome this year. We have grown things we never even imagined in Ogden and the girls have been so helpful. Its been fun to see them run to the garden every morning to see what has grown over night. I think our melons have been our greatest accomplishment. So far we have cantaloupe, watermelon, pumpkins, honeydew melon, summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, tomatoes, peppers, beets, and potatoes. Our carrots died and our leeks never came out of the round.

For breakfast we have been eating eggs, with purple onion, pepper, and tomatoes with a side of lemon cucumbers. It has been awesome. The other morning Em stole all of Gracie's eggs before she could eat them so we had to make more.
Ashley and I have been trying to get together for weeks now but it just hasn't worked out. She invited us over for dinner since both Matt and Dave were both gone and we had a blast. The kids ran around crazy and Ashley and I visited. When the night was coming to a close Libby wanted Hallie to stay and Hallie was thrilled originally but after I left she only lasted an hour before she wanted to come home and sleep in her own bed. But they looked so cute

Fun summer stuff coming to a close

Beauty & The Beast

I always love going to Tremonton and seeing Joy do her thing when she puts on the Children's Theater play each year for the Wheat & Beets days. This year was her 30 yr! I can't even imagine how many hours she has put in over the years. This year was beauty and the beast. Kaylee and Carson were both in it so that was an added bonus

We were lucky enough to talk Grandma Harris and my mom to join us this year

After the play we ran to Kents to get some farm produce and while I did that Grandma Harris proceeded to stuff all my children with doughnuts...lol
My Grandma has come leaps and bounds since I was a kids. She is so great with my kids and really tries to interact with them. I love watching their relationship grow. Once we got back to her house we found Em's carseat(that was sitting on the front porch) was full of ants. We had to spray out Em's carseat and I was so glad we found it before I put Em in it.

Then we headed home. Matt had found these kids golf clubs that he wanted for the girls so I surprised him and when to get them. This is the pic I sent him that said here's my cute face and a sign of how much I love you...I hate golf
We decided since we were already in Ogden that we might as well make a trip of it and get some grocery shopping done. We had a great time...surprisingly. When we left Sams club it was almost dark and the sunset was awesome. To bad our picture doesn't show it
While we were shopping our daddy was doing this without us!
Walmart was the next stop and the girls found this school bus and of coarse they all needed a picture in it

It was a fun day with our girls. One of those days that Im glad we got out and did something fun. Memories...can you ever have enough. These girls are growing so fast Im trying to make the most of every day

Exploring We Will Go

Sometimes when Matt's gone we get stir crazy and have to get out. I am learning to really cherish the time and make memories with the girls. This time to the lake we found a new little beach swing and the girls loved it.

Typically when we load up to go to the lake we grab a blanket, beach toys, life jackets, water and a few snacks.

While sitting at the beach the helicopter flew pretty close to the water. We still don't know why but it was a cool thing to see.
After a couple hours at the beach we headed home for nap time and lunch. Then after dinner we decided to go exploring some more. We headed down to Jefferson Campground and what we found was another fun place to play.

Once we found it was really cool I called Teann and the kids to join us
The water there was just the right for the kids to play in. We explored the river up and down

It wasn't until I got home that I realized my 15 minutes in the sun tanning my super white tummy turned into a really red tomato look so I sent Matt this picture and I think he got a good laugh out of it
I love Huntsville summers. The hot days and cool nights are amazing! There are about 3 weeks from the 4th of July until the end of July that it doesn't cool off at night but the lake is perfect for that. There is beauty everywhere and Im so glad that we have ventured out to find them more lately than ever.
