Liam's 1st Boating Trip

It took us a while to get the boat out and going this summer. But now that its finally mid July were getting it going. Liam seemed to like the boat but didn't love his life jacket. Hallie immediately wanted to knee board and we pulled her around for about 20-30 minutes. She is getting braver and braver all the time.
One thing the boat is great for is putting you to sleep. Liam followed suit in doing just that.

Now that the girls are getting older they are getting more helpful on the boat. Holding the flag and getting towels ect.

I think of everything swim breaks are still the favorite. Overall the trip was a lot more work and less relaxing than I would have hoped but I think we will get there were just still figuring the 4 kids thing out one day at a time.
I love this picture of Matt with Liam ....my two handsome boys

Summer Days

The hammock in the backyard that faces Snowbasin is one of my favorite places to sit and just take it all in. Its often quiet with the exception of the kids laughing which is totally ok with me. Liam is a good partner for the hammock as we watch the girls run around doing various things.

At the beginning of the summer each of the girls made a list of all the girls they would like to have play dates with. Each week we try to choose a friend and have a big play date. They have been fun and at time overwhelming. Its fun to see how each of the girl interact with different friends. Some good and others not so much.

These are the days I will miss the kids being little. Loving to spend time with me doing nothing particular. It sounds clique but I love being their mom.

Baking & Mess Making

After swim lessons today we ran to the library to collect the girls reading prizes on the way there Emy said Liam was poopy but I didn't think much about it until we got there and found this mess. He had stuck his hands in it and gotten it everywhere. I sent the girls in together while I did my best to clean Liam up and clean the carseat so we could get home and into the tub.

Once bathed and car seat was in the washer we set off on getting dinner made. The girls have become quite the chefs. They did a great job making the teriyaki chicken

Rig's Baptism

It's hard to believe that Rigs is 8 but the day has come for him to get baptized. We were so excited we were all able to be together to celebrate with him. All the girls requested their own picture with him. It was a pretty simple program and day,

Addie was so cute. She wanted to hold Liam so of coarse we let he try
Then we headed to Nic's for lunch and to hang out. It was so HOT! She was able to find all the kids swim suits so they could cool off in the water and they had a blast playing together.

The adults did our best to stay cool. I tried to keep Liam wet and cool. At times he was ok with that and at other times not so we rotated a lot between the house and the shade. Did I mention it was so HOT

Happy Birthday America!!!

With the change in the Huntsville festivities we were at a loss as to what our plans would be for the 4th. Everyone but Kim & Ez would be here so we decided to head up to Deweyville and do our old tradition and it was a blast. I love Deweyville and the small town feel there is there. Its so fun to see people young and old and where they are in life now. The parade was, as always, a huge success.

Liam even seemed to have a good time minus being terrified by the sirens of the fire truck and ambulance

The candy drop was a little intense with so many big kids not watching out for the little ones so as adults we all picked a kid or two to keep track of. Luckily no one was injured and they all got a candy bag
Another thing that was super nice was the weather. It wasn't hot and we were really able to enjoy the activities without roasting. It even sprinkled a little as we were leaving Deweyville
Before the storm came in it brought some amazing looking clouds
And we got some playing in outside

After dinner the heavens opened up and it poured and got a little chilly. It did clear briefly so we could do sparklers and watch the fireworks across the valley in our hoodies and jog pants...this might be a 4th of July first.

It was a fun day with just enough plans to keep us busy but some great down time to just relax and hang out. Matt made awesome smoked pulled pork and we had yummy sides and dessert. All good get togethers need some kind of awesome food.
