6462 Summit Cove-Nov 8th-14th Finish Work Continues, Cabinet Install Begins, and Painting

Getting a little closer everyday. Somedays it feels like we have been at this forever and other times it seems to be going quickly. Now that the drywall is up and taped they are working on getting everything textured.

Its so nice to see things starting to get painted. It seems like such a final step and so much closer to being done.

These stairs were such a pain in the butt. They each had to be built twice because they were put in wrong. It was very frustrating but as you can see Milo now agrees they are right!
I am loving the accent that these faux beams are adding to the space. It was something we wished we had done in the firt house so Im happy we are getting to do them now.

Tile is making great progress and turning out really well. First its hard to pick tile you like and blends together...then you have to pick grout. We decided to go with dark grout so it would be easier to clean.

They delivered all of the cabinets but started with the bathrooms. They seem to go in pretty quickly
The gym is becoming very handy for quite a few things. The cabinet guys put all of the basement cabinets in the gym so they wouldn't be in the way for painting.

Its so nice to pull into the house and find people here working.

Matt did an amazing job with the bunk room beds. They turned out just like we wanted

Reading nook. I really think this space will get used a lot. The girls have been really excited picking out lights. It was a great use of this space.
The basement family room doubles as lumber storage. Can't wait for the day when all of this is where it goes permantly in the house.
Basement laundry. I think this will get used a ton for wet towels, swimsuits, and snow closes that need a place to dry.
Decided to add some shiplap

Rock Prep

This weekend I was wracking my brain what I could do to help take things off Matt's to do list so I took on the mechanical room. I think it turned out pretty good
We finally got some snow...everyone is pretty thrilled about that

6462 Summit Cove-Nov 2nd-7th-Finish Work and Babysitting

When we went to Parade of Homes and the girls all found accent walls that they liked for their rooms in the house. To finally see them on the wall makes me feel like there must be an end in site. This wall below is Emy's.

The kids have been so good. Hallie has really stepped up and been willing to keep the kids while Matt and I are up the street working on the house. I never realized how much better it would be to have the house and condo so close together. Matt and I have been able to put the kids down for bed and head back up to work at the house until all hours of the night. We can keep an eye on them with their cameras

One afternoon I had laid Liam down and left to work on the house. Hallie was home with him and the other kids. I went to check on him on the camera and found this awesome shot. She had somehow undressed himself both pants and diaper...look at those cute bum cheeks.
This is the pattern that Hallie picked. It was by far the most time consuming but turned out pretty cool.
The mud room lockers. One thing that is different this go around with building is that we know we are done having kids. That makes figuring out how many lockers we actually need a lot easier.
We have had a lot of late nights and we always seem to have many late night dinners and snacks when we get home. Liam has found that he loves oranges but not the big ones the small ones that are easy to peel.
Finally we have some stairs instead of a ramp to get in the house....one more thing to check off the list.

6462 E Summit Cove-Exterior Paint & Garage Door

Garage doors in and house painted...now hopefully the rock wont be far behind as the weather is doing nothing but getting colder.
