Nate & Kennedy's Wedding Day

The day was finally here!! Nate and Kennady were getting married. She wanted to get married in Salt Lake but the temple is closed for renovations so decided on Payson. With the drive we decided to all stay in the same hotel nearby. It was fun to be able to get up and do breakfast all together before getting ready for the wedding.

After laying everyone's clothes out we realized Emy had forgotten her shoes. So we left a few minutes early so we could stop and grab some. We lucked out and found some she liked pretty quickly. Matt said I've never been in and out of Ross so quickly.
Matt, Maddi, and I stayed with the kids in the waiting area. It worked out well. The kids watched a few videos and at that point they came to get us to wait for the couple to come out for pictures.

It was warmer than any of us anticipated and although the wait felt longer than it actually was we survived.
Maddi was one of the bridesmaids
When we first found out about the engagement Kim, Nic and I decided we wanted the girls to wear matching outfits and they turned out so cute. It was fun to see them run around all day in their matching dresses.
I love the time I get to spend with my sisters
Slave labor keeping our daddy cool
The love of my life! Bets decision I made almost 16 years ago
And this little buddy is our partner for sure
They had a few fans that they passed out but they did very little for the record heat that day
All the beautiful women in my family. Some of my best friends right here. They've all been here through the thick and thin.
All of our cute kiddos
My sisters
Ducky Grandma and the new couple
The Norr family has grown by one more after 14 years of being the same adults and adding kiddos along the way! So excited for both Nate and Kennady
Now the picture looks more complete. All 22 of us
All 11 grandkids

Nate and Kennady decided not to have a luncheon so we had to make plans for lunch so we wouldn't have hangry people in this family. There was a near by Cafe Rio so we basically took up the entire dining room. After we had lunch we had time to kill before we needed to be at the reception site so we did a couple shopping stops and grabbed gas then headed to the center.
They had a buffet dinner then had speeches and dancing after. Poor Nate felt terrible after spending so much time in the sun. I ran to a local gas station and bought some body armor so he could drink it but he felt yucky and I felt terrible because he couldn't enjoy the reception and evening.
The flowers at the reception center were breath taking. I had a heads up that it might be that way since Kenn said she was going to spend the majority of her wedding budget on them. There were so many of them. We sat on the tables further back we were told that the brides family got to take all the closer tables. We were fine with that and had our own party in the back.
My cute mom and dad giving their speeches
Then they had some odd flash mob dancing that transitioned into everyone being invited.

Because Kenn's dad has left the church she wanted to do a ring ceremony. It was short and sweet and then we retreated back to the air conditioned building. The kids loved the set up and used the umbrellas. The photographer was nice to appease them by taking all their pictures.

Then they had the reception. Pretty much the same people came to that as came to the dinner/ring ceremony but for the reception they had skookies and ice cream as well as a drink set up.
I think the kids would say their favorite part was the send off. They had sparklers and bubble guns and they all had a hard time sharing because it was so much fun.

6462 Summit Cove...More Planting and Library Camps

Unfortunately we had several plants die in the yard. We aren't sure why but the landscape company would only replace the large plants and shrubs. I was disappointed but about the same time a local nursery was going out of business and selling everything at least 50% off so Liam and I went to check it out. Needless to say we came home with a lot to plant. Over the next couple day we worked to get them all in the ground since Nate's wedding was this weekend. It was exhausting but we got it done. I can't wait to see them all fill in.

I ordered all the kids gardening gloves off of Amazon and they have been put to good use for sure.
I have been trying to be better about getting to the library activities. The kids love them and it really requires very little on my part just to get them there. This was one of the aquatic camps this summer.

Fun with Friends

One day while everyone was playing I decided we needed to get out and do something fun. So we loaded up with the kids we had and headed to Layton to Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch.

We timed it just right so we had time to run to the dollar store to grab a treat for each kid and then off to the movie to see Lightyear and get popcorn.

But the fun wasn't over yet and we used our gift card to get ice cream to fill our bellies. The kids of coarse all wanted to see if the commercial was true that you could flip it over and it would stay in the cup.

When we got home the kids headed outside in the sunshine and played for hours in the sandbox. To me this is one of the ways summer should look like for kids. Hours with their friends doing fun things without a care in the world.

Happy Father's Day

For Father's Day this year we invited Matt's parents over and Matt smoke ribs because that's what both he and Kerry wanted. The kids and I put together all the sides and dessert so Matt said it was ok he was cooking on his day. We love him so much and all the work and sacrifices he makes for us to have what we do...love you babes!

Impromptu Service Project

The activity day girls did a service project at the cemetery where they collected all the flowers after Memorial Day. The girls decided to keep way more than when we had something to do with. So we came up with the idea to plant them in the island by the gate entrance to our community. The kids were all very excited and helpful.

Within an hour they were all in the ground and watered. I know I've said this before and Ill say it again. I'm so grateful for small service activities like these that are fun and make a difference the kids can see.
Update...I was worried for a while that the sun had killed the flowers but as the weather cooled off and we got some rain they came back to life with all their beautiful color. I hope they come back next spring as well.

Soccer Camp

This is the first year since Emy has been old enough to do soccer camp that it has happened(they cancelled a couple years due to covid). She was already excited and then she found out the neighbor girls were signed up as well. Diana(our neighbor) had twins the end of May so I told her I would handle all the driving. In the past when Hallie did it the weather was beautiful sometimes a little on the to hot side but this year it was so cold! It rained every day and I sent Emy layered hoping she'd be warm! It's crazy how the weather can differ from year to year.

The last day the sun peaked thru the clouds and ended up being beautiful for their last day

Emy had a great time and is already looking forward to next year. Im grateful for the people that take the time to put on things like this that give kids a chance to be physically active and have a good time.
