Matt's 29th b-day

It has always been a joke between Matt and I that he likes older women but now after 3 weeks wait we are once again the same age. Our last year of our 20's. I had the girls ready when Matt got home from work waiting for him to decide where to eat. Once he got home he asked if it would be ok to do Chinese take out and rent a movie. We were completely fine with that. We love nights at home taking it easy and with as much as Matt has been gone it was a great decision.

Oh how this next year is going to be different and hard but will be worth it in the long run. After much discussion Matt has decided to go back to school and get his masters degree in business. One might think lots of people do that but those who know us well know we don't do anything the easy way so on top of going to school he will continue working full time at Wadman and he has just been asked to teach 2 classes this coming fall after teaching just one for the last 2 years. Im a little concerned to say the least for him, me, and the girls but its what were all supposed to be doing so we will make it through. We love him for all he sacrifices for us.

1st Dance Class

Hallie started dance classes this week after wanting to start them for months. She really does have a natural talent and rhythm when it comes to music and movement. She is taking at Energy Dance studio and is in tap/ballet/jazz class so she gets a little of everything. About a week before I took her to go pick out some dance clothes and tap shoes she asked the entire week when she coudl wear them and pretended to go to dance in them until the day came for her to go. She was so excited to go all day she asked when it was time. I was a little nervous about how she would take direction for her dancing at home we just do "freestyle" without any real direction but it ended up being in vain she listened well and had a blast. I stayed and waited in the waiting room just to make sure she was ok being left but I realized shortly after they started she would be fine. I'm excited and sad for this next step in our lives I would like my little girls to stay little forever.

Superbowl Fun/Matt B-day

The Superbowl usually marks the week of Matt's birthday also so it often happens that we celebrate it together. This year was no different lucky for us since having my family move here it has made parties a lot more fun and Sunday was no exception. We decided to do dinner and of coarse your favorite football food. We usually don't really watch the game but this year the 49ers were playing(we grew up cheering for them) so this year we really watched the game. After eating some "real" food we settled into watch the game and eat snacks. Gracie has learned how to pull a fishy face which is so cute but I cant seem to catch a great picture of it but here is a partial and I will keep trying.
Hallie loves Kimber and she is so attentive and loving with her.
My sweet birthday man who requested twix pie that did not disappoint....thanks Pinterest. Note to self next time take it out of the fridge sooner the caramel was a little hard til it had been out of the fridge about an hour.
The kids played so well Hallie and Rigden pretty much entertained themselves so we could watch the game and relax
Then there is this sweet boy who couldn't get any cuter. He is so mellow and go with the flow we each got a chance to love on those sweet little chubby cheeks of his but just like our kids he is getting to big to fast and turns 4 months this week.
Nic was a good sport and let Hallie sit by her for part of the game while holding Luke and also being 9 months prego. Only 5 weeks til I get to meet this sweet baby girl....Im so excited the 1st one on my side.
We had a great time with cheering, eating, relaxing, and laughing. I love my sisters and the fact they live close just makes it that much better. Can't wait to celebrate Matt's birthday again later this week.

Fancy Date Night

So with the titles that Matt holds at work as well as at Weber State it often means that we end up at dinners that I feel very out of place being but the food is usually amazing. If nothing else its free dinner date night.
I have to take a few pictures to show how amazing the food was but to say it doesnt do the  food truly no justice

Maceys Fieldtrip

For February's field trip we were able to go to Maceys and have a tour of the store and how they do a couple different things. We first went to the photo area where they took the most awful picture of all the kids so I just threw it away and then headed to the deli they showed the kids how they cut and vacuum pack cheese. Next we went to the bakery and put on our hair nets. They showed the kids where they made doughnuts and glaze them as well as bake cookies in a giant oven and then they got cookies to eat.  They even got a coupon for a free doughnut and ice cream cone.
Next was the fruit/veggies they showed the kids some of the rare fruits they carry. They got coupons for a free banana
Then the meat and dairy department with coupons for a string cheese. The kids were a little hesitant to go in the fridge and freezer for fear we would shut them in. They had a great time and I was very impressed with how many things they gave the kids. To end they gave them a bag with a coloring book, capri sun, and rice krispie treat. Im enjoying preschool and the things it is exposing Hallie too while I still get to be a part.

Sibling Date Night-January

I really can't say enough how fun it is to have my sisters close and on top of that they even like to hang out with us...double bonus. Once everyone moved up here we decided we wanted to try to do a date night and a family dinner at least once a month. Luckily Kimber keeps us all on track and is persistent with planning them. Our plan was to eat at Cheesecake Factory and then do some shopping at City Creek. But when we got to Cheesecake Factory the wait was 15 minutes to even put our names on the list....we quickly agreed it was so NOT worth that. The boys went to get the car while we tried to think of a plan B. We headed over to gateway and found pretty much the same wait time by this point we were all starving and voted for Rumbi Grill and we weren't disappointed  Something crazy happened while we were eating though someone had left a tip on the table for the buser and just as they left what appeared to be a homeless made quickly opened the door grabbed the money and ran away. It all happened so quickly none of us knew what to think. And momentarily questioned if we were on some prank tv show. I guess some people are just that desperate. But our food was delicious and with no waitress to push us out of our table we visited for a couple hours before wandering through gateway and eventually heading home.
Funny thought to remember as Hallie was looking through the pictures on my phone she pointed out Kim, Nikki, Matt, and I then I asked her who the other 2 guys in the picture with daddy were. She responded that's Nikki's Kyle and that's Kimi's Ezra. I had to laugh I guess she at least know who goes with who.

While wondering through one of the stores Matt found a manneqine hand on the floor and decided to play a trick on Kimber so he put it up his sleeve and when she came over he started talking with his hands after a minutes she noticed and the rest of us busted out laughing.  My silly husband always keep life interesting. Already looking forward to next months date

Happy 29 to ME!

Im not quite sure I can wrap my head around the fact that I only have 1 more year in my 20s but really turning 30 isn't a big deal its just a number to me and some days I feel younger and others older. Anyways Matt was determined to make my birthday extra special since he is always good like that. So no surprise when I woke up to a sweet letter next to the bed with clues where to find the remainder of them. As I went throughout the rest of my day finding sweet notes about why he loved me in places that I came across doing my usual daily stuff. It made the whole day like a treasure hunt. Hallie and I decided to line them up on the microwave so we could make sure we got all of them.
 My birthday goodies.
After Matt got home from work we opened gifts and headed off to dinner because who really wants to cook on their birthday?!? Hallie was so excited to have a picture with me and Matt was happy to help he accomplish that. I love my sweet girls
Gracie mostly people watched and threw food on the floor but she liked all the attention she got from the waitresses.
Once we got home we had cheesecake with gluten free graham crackers Hallie and I had made earlier in the day it was delicious but sadly we were pretty full from dinner so we all had a bite or two and got ready for bed.

It was a great day filled with my favorite people both physically here and also some great phone calls. Here's to another great year in my 20's
