Bath Time

More pictures of our beautiful growing girl I really wish I could freeze time. I thought it was funny how she fell asleep she does like that hand by her face and now that she is here I don't mind it by her face one bit. I thought this picture made her look like she was deep in thought about something

Matt got the girls in the tub this night and all I could hear was a lot of laughing coming from the bathroom so I had to go check it out and this is what I found. The girls thought it was so funny that Gracie had a mohawk

Love these silly kids and their fun dad that keeps life fun

Happy Mother's Day

Its strange to think that I was still supposed to be pregnant for mothers day. I feel so blessed to have her here and be home with our other girls to celebrate this special day. We decided to stay home and take it easy so we could limit the amount of people she was exposed to only problem Hallie was singing in sacrament meeting and asked if I was coming to watch. The answer was of coarse. So Matt took the girls to the first couple hours of church and then after sacrament started I snuck in with Emery covered in her car seat and just left her covered the entire time. After Hallie sang we snuck back out so we could get home to talk to Nate on Skype and also to avoid being mobbed by everyone wanting to see the baby. Once we got home Matt started dinner and we got in a few pictures of me and our 3 girls that make this day so special for me.

It ended up taking longer for Nate to call so we ate the yummy dinner Matt had made and Hallie and Gracie gave me their gifts they had made. Gracie made a really cool flower in nursery and Hallie a frame in school with her picture in it I really liked both of those. Matt also bought me a double belgium waffle maker I have been wanting for quite a while now. Once we got to talk to Nate it was good to see him as well as the rest of my family. Its hard to believe he will be home in just a few months. I think the office has been really good for him. He looks healthier and happier. Kimber also announced that they are pregnant and will be due sometime this winter!
Although this mothers day was pretty low key I loved it! It was great to just be home with my family as well as talking to those that are further away. Im grateful for the opportunity to be a mom. That is truly what I wanted my entire life and although sometimes it is hard I wouldn't change it for the world.

Emery's 1st Bath

Now that we were home and settled it was time to start getting into a routine and figure out what works best for us. Since she hadn't been bathed since the hospital it was time for a bath but since her cord was still in place she needed a sponge bath. Lets just say that she wasn't the biggest fan of the sponge bath she got but really who can blame her.

Once we got her bundled in her towel to get her hair washed she was much happier and Matt got some good pictures of her with her eyes open

All clean

She has quite a bit of hair but of coarse most of it is in the back. Her hair is darker than the other 2 girl for sure even though she still looks a ton like Gracie did when she was a baby

Once she was dressed and all warmed up she was much happier and took a good nap. Having a bath must be hard work.

Meeting Elsa

I guess one bad thing about feeling good so quickly is the fatc that I want to keep the baby home and away from as many people as possible but I feel like I need to get out and about a little bit for some sanity. Saturday since Matt was home we went out to run some errands. We took turns staying in the car with the kids while the other one would go into the store and get what we needed. After we came out of Smiths we noticed a bunch of canopies set up in the parking lot there was no one around since it was pouring rain but upon looking closer we saw Elsa and Rapunzel. The girls were giddy even just from seeing them from the car. Matt was so good and took the girl over so they could meet them and have some pictures. The girls have been so wonderful with the new baby no issues what so ever...at least thus far so it was nice that there was something special that we could quickly do with them. They loved it and still act out what it was like to meet them

Then we headed home to take it easy the rest of the day. The ward brought dinner in again so we spent a lot of time cuddling and hanging out on the couch. Originally I hadn't pulled any of the fleece "cold" weather sleepers out thinking that it would be to warm for her to wear them but she has pretty much worn one everyday since we have had so much rain and cooler weather. I love this little outfit and the way she looks in this color. She is just the right size for newborn clothes at this point.

1st Day Home

The ward was pretty good and brought in meals the next couple of days. They were very thoughtful about what they brought making sure I could eat as well. I really appreciated that. The following day we had no where to go so we took it easy in our pjs most of the day. Matt was planning on working for a couple hours but ended up there most of the day. The girls and I just enjoyed getting back into our routine adding in a new little girl to the mix. I was still feeling pretty good which made the transition that much easier. The girls were so good with her and wanted to take turns holding her. My mom asked me if I was freaking out over having 3 kids and honestly I hadn't even thought about it but no it wasn't that much different than having 2 and the 2 I had were such big helpers I think that we will do just fine.

Day 3-Coming Home

Thursday was another early morning with Drs. in and out writing orders and getting things set up so we could go home later that afternoon. Matt ran home to shower and when he got back the baby and I had fallen asleep and got a good nap in.

After that Mat headed to work for a couple hours which left me and the baby all to ourselves. We got most of the stuff set up for discharge and a few things packed. My friend, Erin, stopped by and it was fun to do some catching up with her only a month and she will have her newest little man. About 11 the picture people showed up to set up a time for pictures and they asked for siblings and dad to be present so I called Matt and he headed home to get the girls and then was headed our way. Just before he came back Joy headed home for some work meetings she needed to be to and Krissy had come to be with the girls. So once they all had their hair done and were dressed they came to the hospital. The pictures ended up being such a waste and I was really disappointed since the pictures with Gracie had been so good. Emery cried since she was hungry and there was really no where for all of us to be pretty much just a complete waste of time. After we were done Matt took Krissy and the girls home for naps and then came back to help get everything packed up. To be honest I was really sad to go home. It was nice to have someone else cook and pick up for you and the girls could come visit any time they wanted so it was a really nice deal. But it was time to figure things out. But before we could leave we had to make her name official. After a lot of debating and trial and error we came up with Emery Kate Brower. The other option we had come up with was Emery Kay so it was slightly like Kerry(Matt's middle name) but I really liked Kate so that is what we ultimately did. It was a lot more discussion than I think either of us had anticipated but we both felt good about our decision so Matt called the birth certificate line and made it official. So Thursday just after 4pm we headed for home. Here is Emery all dressed up and ready to head home. When we left the hospital she weighed in at 6lb 12oz of all cuteness

This child is constantly rooting and acting like we haven't fed her in days! Thank heavens for binkis

Once we got home Krissy did a fantastic job at keeping the kids occupied while we got settled, unpacked, and I showered. Matt ran to pick up our pump provided by our insurance and then we called it a night. We go the girls in bed and then Krissy headed to her grandparents house in Washington Terrace to stay for the night. Hallie couldn't go to bed until she had one more chance to hold her baby. We were able to get some pictures printed so she could take then to school with her the following week...she was pretty thrilled about that.
