Happy 32nd Birthday

For Matt's birthday we had Ashlee and the kids over(Dave was out of town). We made eggs and pancakes. Matt was able to get his garage organized and we just took it easy.
Ashlee brought over some of these cakes to eat after pancakes...they were super yummy.
The girls were super excited to give Matt his gifts and I think we pulled off a few good surprises. We love Matt and everything he is to our family.

100 Days of School & Parent Teacher

Hallie celebrated her 100th day of school. They invited the kids to dress up like an old person and this is as dressed up as Hallie wanted to be so we went with it. She is loving school and no surprise she is great at it. She picks up on things so quickly. I can't believe how fast she is growing and changing
Here are some of the projects she has been working on at school

Gracie the Super Reader

Gracie recently has found her love for books. I really couldn't ask for her to love anything better. We spend a fair amount of time reading throughout the day. And in the times I'm busy I often find her "reading" them herself. I don't think it will be long before she starts reading and she is thrilled.

Em's 1st Pancake

Em has been slow to really take to all types of food and even a little more hesitant to eat food with chunks in it. I have just tried to follow her cues and it seems to be working for her. Now I find myself having a difficult time deciding what to feed her. Pancakes seemed like a good something to try and she loved it. Pancakes are a frequent go to for her. She has started grunting when she wants more of something or if she is done with a certain item. It can be quite confusion but we are making it work for us. It's so fun to watch her learn, grow, and explore.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Em has decided that she thinks lots of things are funny these days. There isn't a bad day that isn't brightened by her smiles and giggles. I love how each of our girls has added a light in our lives in their own way.
We have really been enjoying our wii that we bought the girls for Christmas. It has been a good way to have some physical activity in a warm space while its still winter outside. I love to watch the girls and how much they have learned and even the confidence they have gained from it.

Our New Bed

Matt and I have been on the search for a new mattress but decided we wouldn't buy one until we moved int o the new house and the time has finally come to buy one. We looked and looked and love the one we found. We were worried the night we picked it out since it was super snowy and we didn't want to get the mattress wet trying to get it home. The salesman laughed and said it would fit in the backseat. Matt and I were puzzled until he explained that it came in a box about the size of Hallie. When we got it out of the box the kids were super excited to watch it grow. Its a memory/gel foam and was $1000 bucks which included a mattress protector and 2 pillows from what we looked at we feel like we got a great deal. We love the way we both sleep on it as well. I was concerned that I might change my mind or not sleep well but I haven't slept so well in a while.
