Happy Father's Day

What would Father's Day be without smoked meats?!? This Father's Day was no different. We have decided we would rather host than having to travel and having to worry about there being food for me to eat once we get there. I asked Matt what he wanted and he said to smoke meats so I handled the rest of the food and he did ribs....they were amazing.
We had the chance to break out the bump and runs. When we saw them at Sams Club the girls begged to buy them for Matt for Father's Day and I couldn't say no.
This little friend even took a really great nap...love his sleepy face
Yes they were just as good as they look
After our bellies were full we headed outside for some corn hole. The weather was perfect. We turned on the music, the kids played and we visited. It was a fun evening

Love this man of mine
That night we decided to let the girls have a sleep over. We had to find pjs and toothbrushes for them but it was fun for them to have more time to play

Lazy Summer days

We are thoroughly enjoying our summer and the lack of scheduled activities. It has meant lots of late nights and late mornings. Hallie & Emy is usually up by 9 and Gracie is a late sleeper usually 10. The girls frequently stay in bed in the mornings for an extra hour or so just reading. Some mornings once Liam gets up he isn't sure he's ready to and falls asleep falling up.

Im definitely not looking forward to getting back on a schedule and having to get up and going at a certain time in the mornings

Maddox & Poppies

Several years ago we started the tradition of a trip to Maddox for lunch then up the canyon to see the blooming poppies. They were a little behind this year with the cooler temps but we were excited when it did finally happen. Lunch was super yummy. Emy thinks equal parts raspberry butter and roll...thats my kind of girl
All this perfection in one picture
I love this bunch and our adventures

This is my little partner...so grateful for our little caboose

All the exploring was the highlight of the day I think.  The girls thought they found a stream and when they went to go check it out they ended up all muddy and weren't very happy about it.

Emery 4 yrs 1 month
All that attitude
Gracie 7 yrs 5 months
This cute girl lost her left front tooth last night
Hallie 9 yrs 9 months

She was so funny. Mom take a serious picture of me. Then we looked at it and laughed so hard we almost peed our pants

1st Bike Ride

We finally got out to ride our bikes today. The paved trail they have put in around the entire lake is so nice. We started at the church and worked our way just over a mile away before turning around to come back. Liam did pretty good but got tired and luckily fell asleep on the way back rather than crying. The girls all did great even Emy and her little legs. Im definitely looking forward to more rides like this one

Liam 6 Months

Look at this little man getting so big. Its hard to believe that 6 months has passed already. He has just started sitting up and his sleep has really turned around in the last month. Now that he can sit up he is so much happier to just sit and play. He can roll over but usually chooses not to unless you put him on his belly and he wants to get off of it. We have been doing some sleep training and he has been doing so well. We bought a portable sound machine and it has helped a ton. He still likes to be swaddled, to have a binki, and be held to go to sleep but once in bed he is actually sleeping. His hair is so blonde but is filling in and is getting really thick. He has some pretty crazy cowlick. His personality is becoming more apparent everyday. At times when his sisters are bothering him if they even get close he cries almost like he is crying for an adult to rescue him. He is also started to jabber and yells at times. Its so fun to see him showing us more of who he is. We love him so much

Crash & Burn

One of the things that you always hope wont happen as a mom, happened today. I fell today while carrying Liam! The kids and I were walking into Sam's Club when Gracie lost her flip flop and when she reached over with her foot she tripped me and I crashed hard. Right in the middle of the Sams Club parking lot flat on  my face. Luckily I was able to get Liam up but my body definitely took the worst of it. A couple people stopped and asked if we were ok and if they could help. I wanted to cry, it hurt so bad, but Gracie was so upset. I hoped up looked over Liam and myself and we headed into the store. It was only once inside when the girls realized how bad it was. There was blood running down both legs and my one arm. I did my best to not draw attention to it as I didn't have band aids big enough to cover them. Once Gracie noticed the blood her crying went to the next level. I kept telling her everything was fine. After we finished shopping and got back in the car I called Matt and had a really hard time holding it together. It was the worst I have hurt myself in a very long time.  When we got home I cleaned up them up and got band aids on them and finally took some Tylenol. I was so relieved it wasn't worse and that Liam wasn't hurt. I hope to never experience that again. Hopefully they heal soon

Temple Square

The conferences where Matt is gone over the weekend is the hardest. I have to make more effort to get us out of the house. After church on Sunday I decided the weather was perfect to head to Temple Square. We normally only go there in the winter to see the Christmas lights. So we decided to go check out the visitor center and see the flowers. It was a total hit. It wasn't hot but as we got there the dark storm clouds started rolling in and I was hoping we could walk around before it rained. I called to invite Mindy to join us but she had other plans.

The wind was blowing like crazy when we first got there so we went to the visitors center first. I don't remember a time I have ever been there to see all the temple history stuff and watch the videos. It was really cool. There was more than we could ever do in one day so we definitely need to go back. It was nice to get out for the day and enjoy the sunshine
