Swim Lessons

I have been wanting to get the girls back into swim lessons but there hasn't been anyone in the valley teaching them so I gave in and decided to take them to Weber State. It turned out good and the girls had a good time.

I put Hallie and Gracie in the same class because it was the only option. Hallie passed her class.
Gracie needs to repeat the level so she can become a stronger swimmer
Liam loved getting to play with trucks uninterrupted

Emy did great in her class and will move on to the next level

Fire At Snow Basin and Random Summer Pictures

One afternoon we saw a very scary site. Fire on the mountain next to our house. This summer has been so dry and we have been on restrictions since the beginning of the summer. Turns out a guy and his girlfriend were out and he shot a gun off and it started the fire. Luckily they called it in and got help there faster than if they had just let it burn and had someone else find it. We are so grateful. We were put on watch to evacuate but luckily never had to. The girl especially were very shook up by the idea of our house burning down and not having anything to come home to. It prompted some really good conversations.

6462 Summit Cove-Small Projects and Concrete(Finally!!)

It's taken a while but we finally were able to get concrete. Our poor concrete guys have been starving for work with the shortage. They were just as ready to get it done as we were.

We enjoyed popsicles and watched them since Maddi came to visit for the day

I finally found a way to use the beautiful old fence slats that Nic gave me.

St George Weekend

We threw together a last minute weekend to visit my parents and it was awesome that Nic could come as well. My parents house is a great location for us to meet. My mom has started making these dresses out of super soft stretch knit and the girls all loved getting to have some like their cousins.
Liam and Griff are such good buddies and play so well together. It is so fun to watch them interact and have so much fun while the older kids are off doing their own thing.
And sometimes when you play hard to crash hard to. He fell asleep on Matt lap while we were waiting for dinner to get there.

My mom is an amazing seamstress and I always wish she would teach me. Occasionally we have time to go over at least a few steps. The girls loved their pjs so we went to Joanns and picked out more fabric and a pattern. Mom showed both Nic and I how to cut them out. She finished sewing them and then gave them to us. I hope someday I can learn to sew like her.
Pizza for the win
And the hot tub to follow
Unfortunately we didn't get to stay as long as we had planned because we found out that Tyler was getting married and of coarse we wanted to be there. So we left after lunch and headed for south Salt Lake for the wedding. It didn't take long before everyone was out!
It made for a super quick and fun weekend but it was worth it. Tyler married a girl named Brittany and I hope they are happy together. They had a nice and small wedding in her parents back yard. It was fun to see Mindy and the kids.

Bear Lake With Friends

July has been full of all sorts of fun so far and this weekend was no different. We got to go camping with our Huntsville friends. Amy/Perry, Bree/Blake, and Hilary/Mark and of coarse their families. We left earlier than the rest because we wanted to check out the adventure park just as you come into Bear Lake. It didn't disappoint. We bought each of the kids a slide punch pass so we each got to go 10 times. The tubing hill was super fun and the water sprinkler was just what you needed to cool you off on the hot July day.

Then we decided to try the trampoline jumper

Emy was a little bit light but she made the most of it and they helped her by adjusting the elastic ropes.

Hallie wanted so badly to do a flip and just before her time ended she was able to do it.
Then we headed to the campground to check it. Yes you heard me right and said campground. There are very few people in this world I will camp for and these and one of the few. It was a pretty pricey camping trip considering that we had to buy a tent and a few other essentials. Andrew is so great with Liam and Liam loves him
We stayed at the koa. They had some fun things to do there and it was a great location to get around town.

The first night we went and grabbed burgers at a place nearby and then back to camp to swim, shower, and sit by the fire.

We spent a fair amount of time at the pool. It was always full of kids having a great time.

Unfortunately they didn't have a hot tub but they had a kiddie pool. It was so cold though I was surprised when Liam wanted to play in it. It wasn't long before the kids were all cold and we headed back to camp.
These times are the best when you settle in for the night and have good conversation. We played a few getting to know you games and that started some really great conversation.
Our sleeping arrangements were creative and worked pretty well. We bought 2 sets of bunk bed cots for the kids. They all slept really well.
Matt and I on the other hand did not. We should have purchased a new air bed for us. It was terrible and was more than half flat when morning came. If/when we camp again we will buy a new air mattress.

Every time we come to Bear Lake I see people riding these bikes and I was so excited to try them. Matt didn't share in my enthusiasm but was willing to try it. Saturday morning we got up and headed to rent a bike and rode it to breakfast. There is a little Crepe place that several people had suggested. The one thing that we didn't anticipate was waiting for over 2 hours for our food. While we waited we took turn taking the kids for rides and eating the fruit we had bought to tide us over. About lunch time we got our breakfast crepes and headed back to the campground to eat and see what everyone else was doing.

We decided we were going to head to the east side of the lake and find a place to play at the beach. It was all super crowded but she found a small spot for us to set up our canopy, chairs, and snacks. One nice thing about Bear Lake is the water doesn't drop off quickly it is shallow forever. It felt very safe to let the kids play while the adults relaxed a little.

Our whole group
That night we ordered pizza and the boys went to pick it up while the rest of us showered. The bath houses they have are nice but it doesn't compare to showering in your own space.

Sunday morning we broke camp and got ready to head home. The other families rented a few small bikes so while Matt and I finished breaking things down they were able to ride around the campground.

When we got home we took "real" showers and spent the rest of the day unpacking and just vegging. That night when I gave Liam his bottle he could barely keep his eyes open. I guess that could be a sign of a fun and busy weekend with friends
