Random August Picture Collections

I love this little buddy. He is my partner in crime and my little shadow since the girls are at school all day. He loves smoothies, paw patrol, sausage, books/reading, and of coarse cars.

These two can be the best of friends but there are times when Liam is done being "mothered" by Emy and then it turns bad quick. But I'm doing my best to just enjoy the moments they get along and take the fighting as an opportunity to teach them to have patience with each other
Gracie was wanting to get her hair evened out and it looks super cute of her.
I can't remember why Liam ended up with a crayon band aid on his face but I remember he insisted on sleeping with it there.
We have started to get quite a bit of rain and I have no complaints. We have had to pack a few more things for soccer to stay dry but we need it so badly we can adjust. They even canceled a few of the kids games because the fields we so wet. I can't remember the last time that happened.

Kerry Turns 70

We decided since Kerry turned 70 we should have a party. We decided to have it in Tremonton so it was closer for Ris and Tiff. Matt was in charge of making the meat and everyone brought sides. The planning started early because we had a busy Saturday planned. Emy had a game at 10 then Hallie had one at 12 so it was running running. Afterwards we ran home and got ready to head to Tremonton for dinner.

Joy had bought a swing like ours on our back patio. It was fun for the kids to take turns swinging. Liam and Eden are little buddies when were together. She is just a year older than he is.

Austin had brought his climbing gear so he strung it up in the tree and let the kids play with it. Each of the kids took a turn and dependent upon which kid it was it took all the others to hoist them up

I don't think there has ever been a time we have been to Kerry & Joy's with the family that the costumes haven't come out. They always come up with some play or song. Liam got involved this time and thought it was fun that they dressed him up.

It was most of the families first time meeting Tripp with Covid Chris and Krissy have been really careful and haven't been many places

I used to be scared of Kerry when Matt and I were dating. He can be really hard to read and is quiet and don't say much. Growing up I thought that meant he didn't like me although now I don't think that was ever the case. It was good to get to celebrate him all together.

6462 Summit Cove-Yard Progress-Plant Placement and Top Soil is Here

The yard has taken a bit to get up and going but it seems to slowly be coming together. When Adam and his helpers show up and work all day I'm so glad we hired it out. It would have taken Matt and I a long time to get it to this point. The sprinklers are in and they are just now laying out the plants. It ended up not being exactly like the plan because some of the plants on the plan were hard to find plus we had a bunch of the ones Kade got us. So we blended it together and then evaluated as we went. So far its looking nice.

In the morning after we get the girls off to school Liam and I sit out and watch them work and visit with them
Liam even chips in every so often to help. The guys are super great to include him

What will be our sledding hill
backyard ready for sod...we are hoping for a wet fall so we can put our grass in. We have been told that we can if we start to get some moisture.

Pack Attack has been great to work with and so flexible with things we have wanted to move around but mostly I'm just glad we didn't have to do it. We decided that we would rather spend our time as a family doing things together.

Back To School Night and First Day of School

This years back to school night was a little different than we are used to. We had two separate ones to attend. Now that Hallie will be in junior high we had to split our time between the two schools. Paige joined us since her mom was working. We toured and explored the school since it was new to all of us. We found all of the girls classes and their lockers. I remember how excited I was to have a locker for the first time and its crazy that now Matt and I have a daughter that is to that point in life. I had to work so I took Hallie first then dropped her at soccer practice and took the other girls to their back to school night.

Then the next morning it was up bright and early and back into a routine which is a double edged sword for sure. Hallie gets up about 6:40 but sometimes we both struggle and get up at 7 and rush around to get her to the bus at 7:15. The bus schedules are always tricky the first of the year in guesstimating times for everything.

This is the first year Hallie has gotten a chrome book to bring home and be her responsibility for the entire year. I'm sure it will come with some challenges but she thinks its pretty cool.
Then back home by 7:20 to get Gracie and Emy up. Grace is hit or miss if she gets up to her alarm so somethings when I get back she s dressed and ready and sometimes I have to drag her out of bed and convince her its time to get up. I leave Emy til last because she hates getting up. The bus comes at 7:59 which is five minutes earlier than last year...and I thought 8:05 was bad. Gracie starts 4th grade this year with Mrs. Montgomery(same teacher Hallie had)

Emy starts 1st grade this year and for the 1st time will be gone all day. It's going to be weird to only have one kid home

Emy forgot some things she needed so I decided to just run the girls to school. It was fun to see them interacting with their friends and getting back into the swing of things.
I even got to join them for breakfast. It is going to be so nice having Matt working from home so when things like this happen I can just say no worries and run the kids to school while Liam sleeps since he isn't home alone.

Fair Week

Fair week is always such a fun time for all of us. I love doing things with the kids that I also did as a kid. It just brings back fun memories. The parade is always the kick off for us and this year was no different. Hallie was stoked about seeing the book mobile unfortunately I've never seen one in our neck of the woods. Growing up it would come and park in front of our house once a week and I always loved going to pick out books literally in the front yard.

We always end up with quite the haul of candy. I like that they also give out cereal, string cheese, and popsicles to break it up.
Friday night we got tickets and attended the rodeo with my family and some of our friends. I love the rodeo and the patriotic feel that comes from the music they play and just the overall feel in the arena. The kids were so excited to get cotton candy...it took forever but they thought it was worth it. They were at least a good size.

Every time they throw items at an event all the kids want to catch something and this time Gracie did.

It's always a late night but well worth it. Everyone fell asleep pretty quickly after we said goodbye to grandma and papa.
