Christmas Day

I have never been so glad we split up the kids gifts as I was on Christmas morning. It was a lot simpler than normal and so much more enjoyable to just watch the kids play with their few gifts on the morning of Christmas. Kerry and Joy stopped by while making the rounds to visit everyone. We had a lot of fun playing games, doing puzzles, and of coarse playing with Legos. It was fun for hours. We just hung out and enjoyed the day.

Christmas Eve

We have still been trying to figure out what we want our traditions to be so we have been testing a few things out. This year seemed to work out pretty good. We slept in, made sugar cookies, went to Golden Corral for lunch, then came home to decorate cookies and open Christmas Eve pjs.

Christmas Village with The Cornaby's

With the kids out of school for Christmas break it made it easier to make plans and stay out a little later. We went to dinner with Jamie and Parker and their 2 kids. We ate at Pizza Pie Cafe of coarse because we let the kids decide. I always forget how hard it is to have a great conversation when you take the kids with you to dinner. Then off to the Christmas Village. I was bitter cold with very little snow or cloud cover so we didn't last long. We walked quickly but once the kids started playing with the street cones we knew we needed to be done. We packed up and grabbed hot cocoa at Maverik before heading home. It was fun to see the displays but we picked a busy time to go which made it hard to see so we will plan better next time.

Sickness

Although it seems "normal" for kids to get sick now when Liam gets sick there is a whole new set of anxiety that goes with it. He is doing so well but my mind can't help but think the worst. I am working on it but it's so hard. Oh how I love this little buddy of mine.

Brower Family Christmas Party

We hosted the Brower Christmas Party this year. We arrived home from St George very early Sunday morning after leaving because my dad was sick. It was nice to have the morning to prepare everything and have down time before everyone arrived. Since we were going to be out of town everyone brought all the food and we supplied drinks and all the paper products. It was a different way to do dinner but it was nice to not have to worry about cooking for everyone. I didn't take many pictures but it was good to have everyone together.

St. George Christmas

We had planned to go to St George but then my mom got the stomach flu but thought it was just food poisoning. But once she was better we decided last minute to pack up and head to St George for the weekend to celebrate Christmas with my family. I'm so glad we did. We made some last minute plans to make Christmas candy and visit the lights at Tuachan. We also enjoyed playing in the hot tub and going to the playground. But what we loved most was being with cousins and my sisters. I love the snow but it was also nice to be with people we love and outside in the sunshine.

We grabbed dinner at pizza factory before going to Tuachan
The live nativity was beautiful and just the perfect length for all the kids and adults.

When we found out there was a train we knew we wanted to ride it. Liam was so thrilled from the time we got there. Every time we saw it driving around he would ask if it was our turn to ride on it.

The longest line of all was to see Santa but the kids all though it was well worth it.

Unfortunately during the nativity my dad started to feel yucky and had to go to the bathroom a couple times and felt nauseous. We decided on our way back to my parents house to pack up and drive thur the night home so we wouldn't expose ourselves to whatever he had. My parents had also been staying at my grandma's house so there was room for all of us at my parents and when you're sick you just want to be in your own space. It was a very late night and we were greeted with very cold temperatures but we were still happy to be home sleeping in our own beds.
It was such a fun weekend and I'm so grateful my sisters cleared schedules so we could all be together. I love them so much and all the time we get to be together.
