Conference Weekend

Our conference weekend was pretty low key. We started out with early morning soccer that was freezing and on top of that it was raining! We did our best to stay under the umbrella and stay dry and warm. Since the kids had slept over Nic came to the game to get them and watch Hallie play. Hallie loves when we have "guests" to watch her play

I was supposed to work Sunday but took the call off when it was offered. I got up and made cinnamon rolls since everyone likes seems to like them better than the old Brower tradition of conference cakes. So I think we have now established our own conference tradition. They turned out huge! Like the biggest cinnamon rolls I have ever made. The kids loved them and we were happy to share with the neighbors.
In between sessions the weather was beautiful so Matt took the girls for individual rides. We live in such a beautiful area and I love when we take the time to get out and enjoy it

I love the weekends that we really don't have anywhere we have to be or anything we really have to do. Just being together and doing simple things is my favorite

Kisses and Cuddles

My kids have always been, for the most part, so loving with each other. Don't get me wrong they occasionally tease and bug one another but at the end of the day hugs and kisses are had by all before we go to bed. The other day Gracie and Em were playing Legos and Em asked Gracie if she wanted hugs and kisses. Gracie being the lover that she is of coarse took her up on that. I love that my kids love each other and show it on a daily basis. I hope they are always like this

We got a new toy and the girls are loving it. I have wanted one of these for a long time but new they are over $100 so when I found one on the classifieds I knew I had to have it. I may have even tried it a couple of times...lol

Hallie's 8th Birthday Party

First off I can't believe that Hallie is turning 8! She has wanted to go to the trampoline park for her party for the last couple years so this year we decided to make it happen. Hallie requested sea turtle cupcakes...random but they turned out really cute.

Matt was going to be out of town so I told Hallie she could only invite a couple friends so I could keep track of all of them plus Em and Gracie. She thought about it for a few minutes and said I want Paige, Rigs, and Kinley. Is that ok? Oh can Gracie and Em come too? I was more than thrilled with her response..lol. So I called Nic and we worked out all the details. So on Friday I picked Hallie and Paige up from school and we headed to Kaysville to the trampoline park. We decided to just have them jump for an hour but we totally lost track of time and they never called our band color so we ended up jumping for almost 2! Then we loaded up and the kids decided they wanted Little Caesars Pizza for dinner. So we grabbed pizza and headed back to Nic's house.

They had couches throughout so we moved around so we could see the kids most of the time.
Em wasn't a huge fan so she spent most of her time hanging out with Nic and I

All the girls with a random little boy that wanted in the picture...lol

Since I didn't want to haul the cupcakes to Kaysville we decided we would let the cousins have a sleep over and Paige's mom said she could stay over later than usual. So we headed home and had cake and ice cream then the kids watched a movie before we called it a night and got everyone headed to bed.

It was a fun night celebrating Hallie. She has grown up so much and is such a good kids. Happy birthday Hallie. Love you

Fun Run

It's that time of year again for the Fun Run. This year they had all the kids run at different times and with it being the same day as Hallie's birthday party we had a lot going on. Gracie said she really wanted me to come watch her but Hallie said she was fine either way. So I made it to Gracie's then made cupcakes so I could be on time to pick Hallie up from school to leave til the party. Gracie did a great job and completed all 35 laps they wanted them to. She was so excited every time she got to get a number checked off

Em was so excited to be part of the class even if it was just for a short period of time
The popsicles were a definite hit

Fall Adventures

Now with the weather cooling down it was time for the garden to come to an end. We have really enjoyed the garden both through being able to share and enjoying it ourselves. I was not optimistic about how the corn would be since we got it planted late but it was amazing. Im excited to try again next year and adjust
So we bought a four wheeler a couple weeks again and have been enjoying riding around the neighborhood and sometimes to and from the bus stop. Its a 2003 Honda Rubicon with only 979 hours. I was done shoveling/blowing the snow so we bought the four wheeler with a blade and are going to see how it works out. The girls all love to ride and never want to stop
The other day after I picked Gracie up from the bus we decided to drive up Old Snow Basin road and see the fall colors. The road is way longer than I thought and the colors were amazing
Im excited for all the adventures I think we'll have on the 4 wheeler. I have such good memories of riding 4-wheelers with my family growing up

Happy 8th Birthday Hallie

Im not sure how this happen so quickly but our Hallie has turned 8! She has been so excited for this birthday for a long time. She hates her door shut so we improvised and I think we did a dang good job....and she was pretty thrilled when she woke up.
That morning she knew exactly what she wanted to wear, how she wanted her hair, and what she wanted to eat. She looked so cute. She took M&M cookies to share with her class

That afternoon I picked her up from school and we headed for an early dinner before soccer practice. Matt and I decided we wanted to do something special for all the kids birthdays so we decided on Kobe which is a teriyaki restaurant where they cook your food in front of you. Hallie was so excited someone was going to make her food in front of her. It was the first time any of the kids have done something like this and only the 2nd time I'd been there. We were thriller when Matt's parents decided to join us. The girls were so excited to see the surroundings that they didn't mind that we waited for a few minutes for Matt's parents to arrive. They fed the fish and loved watching the waterfall.

We brought Hallie's presents with us so while we waited for our food she opened them. Matt's parents gave her some money. We got her a new comfy dress with pockets, a bike helmet, cotton candy, gum, and some legos. She was pretty pleased
Then the show began. They started with the rice and Matt and Hallie tried catching some with their mouth. It was pretty funny

It was such a fun time and the kids ate a ton of food. Total win. It was definitely pricey but so worth it. Then Matt headed up the canyon to run Hallie to soccer. Hallie said it was one of the best days of her life..lol. Hallie has grown into a little adult. She loves to read just about anything. She is really responsible but is definitely still a kid. She excels at school and is a social butterfly. She is so helpful to me and such a good sister to both Gracie and Em. She is still so little only 48 lb 13 oz and 47.5 in which is the 10% in both for her age but none of that slows her down. She is a great little soccer player and has picked up on piano really quickly. We are so proud of all that she has accomplished in her short life and can't wait to see where she goes from here.

Discovery Time

I feel like we are really settling back into life since the move and all the changes that came around that time. I have always loved taking each of the girls to discovery time. It has taken Em a couple weeks to settle in and feel comfortable sitting at the carpet and not on my lap but she's doing great and seems to really like it. I love her and her cute self
