Date Night with Grandma

Hallie was super excited when she found out she got to attend a play with Grandma Joy. It was the Hunchback of Notre Dame. They had a yummy quick dinner then headed to the play. Nick and Brit were unable to use their tickets so Joy took Kaylee and Alivia as well. They had a great time.

Ax Throwing Date Night

Matt and I have really enjoyed  getting back to the Utah State Extensions the last couple months. We were really looking forward to going ax throwing. Sounds strange but it really was SO fun. The way they did it in the group made it even that much more fun. They put us in teams after a short explanation of a couple different ways to throw the ax and had us do various games to see who would win. It was surprisingly pretty easy but slightly difficult at the same time. We would definitely go again.

Happy Birthday Hallie! Double Digits 10!!!

I don't when or how this happened but Hallie is now in double digits! She is becoming such a fun and sweet young women. This girl loves her sleep and will sleep in almost any chance she gets.
Her 10 year stats are as follows
Height 51.875 inches
Weight 57.6 pounds
She is very organized and a definite leader and has grown a lot when it comes to being a good leader and not just bossy. Something she has said for a long time is that she doesn't like group work. She like to be in charge and do her own thing. But she has gotten much better with that. She is a fantastic student and still loves to read.
For her birthday she really wanted me to bring the kitties to the school to show her class. With her teachers permission we did it and the kittens were a huge hit!

Her teacher is a good balance for her this year and has really helped her learn and grow in a lot of ways
That night she had a soccer game and brought treats. She loved telling everyone it was her birthday and they even sang to her. She is doing so well with soccer and has enjoyed the pre-comp team this fall.

That night we finally opened gifts, she was so excited she could hardly stand it. She got new earrings, a rock polisher, and
glow in the dark stars for her room.
This girl is passionate about everything she loves. We had pizza for dinner that night...another favorite of hers.

With her birthday being in the middle of the week she got more than one day to celebrate. On Saturday I took all the girls and Paige to Color Me Mine in Ogden to paint ceramics and afterwards we all went to dinner.

Paige has been such a good friend to Hallie since we moved here and I hope they continue to stay friends. Making true friends is really hard
On Sunday we did dinner and cake and ice cream with family. Hallie's only request for a cake was sprinkles...and this is what we came up with. She loved it

Family Bike Ride

One of my favorite thing when the weather isn't to hot or to cold is to take the kids out for bike rides. I love that Liam is now older and enjoys it along with the rest of us. The Valley is so beautiful and I'm looking forward to finding new trails as the kids get bigger and can go further.

We stopped to visit the horses and feed them some grass/weeds from the side of the trail. Everyone thought it was so fun and Liam was fascinated with them, as this was his first interaction. We all fed and pet them. I have always wanted horses but I don't know if that will ever be in the plans for us. They do require a lot of work and attention but are such beautiful animals

On this particular trail there is a spot that drops down in a slope and Emy forgot to use her brakes. Neither Matt or I could get to her in time before she rode thru the weeds and into the fence. It was scary at the time but afterwards when she was completely fine it gave us a good laugh. We have definitely been practicing using our brakes since then
