Meet Milo

The kids were counting down the days until we could pick our puppy up. I text on Tuesday to check and make sure we were still good for Saturday and Julie(the breeder) said he was ready to go at any time. The kids were freaking out. I talked to Matt and we decided we would go get him Wednesday after work. The kids were so anxious for Wednesday to come and for Matt to finish work. We grabbed dinner quick before we went to get him. Of coarse they all wanted to hold him and they couldn't agree on a name so he came home nameless and got passed around a lot.
On Tuesday night Gracie and I ran to the store to buy some essentials so we would be ready. Since we ordered supplies on Amazon I didn't want to go overboard but we needed something for him. He seemed to take to us pretty quickly and settled in. We had picked out a microwavable small stuffed animal that we warmed up and put to bed with him. We had been watching some YouTube videos so we knew how to train him and we were set. For the first couple weeks he got up once in the night to go potty and then has since been sleeping through the night.

We bought a baby gate that you can make into a variety of shapes so we could keep him in a certain space so he didn't pee everywhere. It works really well.
He seems to be fitting in without family well. Matt has been taking him and Hallie to go running at Anderson Cove in the mornings and it really helps to get out his morning wiggles. He sleeps in his cage in our closet but the girls would like it if someday he can start to sleep with them.
The crazy positions he sleeps in is humerus.
So far Milo seems to be fitting in very well. He is smart and picks up on things so quickly. He loves the kids and is so patient with them. I think we'll keep him.

6462 Summit Cove-Mulch Day

The day finally came to mulch the hundreds of branches we have cut down over the last several months. Matt stopped and picked up the equipment on Friday and we were anxious to get started so after dinner we ran up to the lot and mulched as many trees as possible until the sun was setting. The girls were all very helpful and wanted to help with all parts of the process.

I feel like Hallie has grown up right before our eyes. She is so helpful and her attitude has been so good lately. She is really trying and I couldn't be more proud of her. She is my right hand and I can't imagine it any other way.

This time I brought warm clothes for Liam and put him in the backpack with his ear protection. He                                        did so well and just seemed happy to be along for the ride.

Gracie was so happy when we were done

The next morning we started early...it was snowing(of coarse). Kerry was up here bright and early to help...which I was so grateful for since I never know how much help I'll be with the kids. Emy and Gracie just wanted to play and sit in the car but the rest of us got it done.
They at least took some pictures to document.
The weather was less than favorable but at least it was better than rain because we stayed mostly dry.
I ran Gracie, Emery, and Liam home for lunch and nap. We had completely worn Kerry out so he headed home and after quickly settling the kids I headed back to finish up with Matt and Hallie. Hallie was freezing so she sat in the truck while we finished up. As we finished the sun came out and the snow went away...go figure!

Now to get the professionals in to clear the rest. Cant wait.

Liam's Fight with Cancer-First Illness Post Active Treatment

Anytime Liam gets any sort of symptom I have to set the panic aside and think through them. Its hard because they are "normal" toddler symptoms for teething, ear infections, virus, ect. Before cancer I wouldn't have thought anything about them but now Im jaded. Thursday night/Friday morning Liam seemed a little unsettled. He was running a fever, not eating great, and was super clingy. He only slept for a few minutes every couple hours while he was being held. As the morning went on I just couldn't do anything to make him comfortable so I called the oncology clinic and then the pediatrician after the oncologist said it sounded like "normal" stuff. The ped office was so great. With the current COVID-19 situation the office is running two offices...a sick and a well office. He was having "sick" symptoms but I wasn't about to take him to the "sick office. I explained the situation and they looked up his chart and agreed that we should bring him to the "well" clinic. I called when I arrived in the parking lot and they gave me a room number. I entered through a side entrance and had Liam wear a mask.
All the way there I felt at peace as I prayed that it would be something simple and we could get him feeling better. We weren't there more than five minutes and the Dr came in. Dressed head to toe in protective equipment and only a few short minute later he found the issue. Liam had a massive ear infection. He had been getting 4 teeth and had a clear runny nose that we assume caused the ear infection. Shortly after they called in the prescription and we were on our way. They put him on Augmentin since he has been on the pneumonia preventative antibiotics for the past few months.
We swung by Smiths on the way home and of coarse the antibiotic wasn't ready so we circled the pharmacy window to the back of the line. Liam was exhausted, felt crappy, and just wanted to go home. It took them a good 20 minutes to get it ready and I wanted to pull my hair out but as soon as I got it I gave him a dose and home we went.
Once we got home I gave him some Ibprofen, put him in the tub(to decontaminate him from the Dr office),and sat to cuddle him. It didn't take long and he was out. Finally getting some much needed sleep.

Oh how I love this sweet boy and I hope that as time goes by I will take a deep breath before I panic. I strongly feel that he is done with cancer and Im grateful for the reassurance the spirit gives me frequently about Gods plan for Liam and us. Thank heavens for ear infections....I don't know that I have ever felt that way about an ear infection before.

6462 Summit Cove-Our Daily Outing

Our walks to the lot have been lifesavers. It has been fun to see the snow melt and the land come back to life. I love how quiet the neighborhood is and can't wait until we live there. I also want to remember what the land looked like before we changed it and to see it transform into a home. I also love having Matt home to occasionally go with us

Liam loves to eat the super clean snow

The new scooter are definitely coming in handy

6462 Summit Cove-Design Choices

I'm loving having this house as something to keep my mind occupied during this time at home. Some decision seem easier than others but it just seems like there isn't a ton of time to focus on doing all the research but not leave the house. Last time I enjoyed going to pick things out and hopefully we will get there before we really have to put the finishes in the house. This is currently some of our favs.
get to venture out to a private cabinet... meeting in their showroom.
It was so fun for us to go to a private meeting at the cabinet showroom. We were able to look at painted cabinets and new stains they have available. Pick door styles and go thru more of the fun stuff with building.
We loved our island being a different color last time so we're considering going with a blue island this time...only time will tell. We're planning on going with the same counter tops now to decide on flooring.

There are so many lighting options that I like its hard to pick one type or style
