Demo Derby Fun

Oh my gosh we love the demolition derby! When we found out that there was one coming up in Morgan we knew we wanted to go and take the kids. So we made plans and went. The girls faces are my favorite and make Matt and I smile. Im glad that the girls loved it because Matt and I were pretty disappointed. There were only 2 heats and a bunch of dead time games in the middle. It only lasted just over an hour but we made the best of it. Im grateful we had the family time and the means to go and make those memories.

Em loved waving to all the drivers as they came into the ring
We are excited to make plans to go to another sooner rather than later

Another Summer Week Gone

Sometimes when Matt's gone its super hard. Things need to get done and I don't know how to fix them. I noticed one morning that my car was making funny noises. I called Matt and he called our mechanic but he couldn't get me in for a couple days so Matt called Nick and he made arrangements to come that evening to look at it. I was so grateful. When he came it turned out my back brakes were bad and had warped one of the rotors. Until it was fixed I was without a car and with Matt gone it freaked me out a little. The next day Nick came back with the parts and got it all fixed for me. I am so appricative that he took the time to do that for me. Its hard when Matts gone for things like this
While Nick fixed the car the girls played with Legos and I guess Hallie thought she needed a helmet. Legos are dangeros
One night I was mowing the lawn and Hallie asked me to teach her how. It went pretty well but she has a hard time controlling the lawn mower because she's so little
I was just thrilled she wanted to try and took the initiative to ask
Matt finished the built in grill. Its so nice that its finally done
Introducing "Genie Jammies"! Now I understand some of you have no idea what I'm talking about so I'll fill you in. When I was younger my Grandma Harris would make these pjs for all the granddaughters. They are perfect for summer and so fun and flowy(I don't even know if that's a word). Guys these are HARD to make so as you can imagine how thrilled I was when she made a pair for Hallie that have now been passed down to Gracie and now to Em. Aren't they the cutest!?!

Pioneer Day at the Bees Game

On the 24th of July we really hadn't had plans but around noon Matt text and asked if we wanted to go to the Bees game. He had a friend that was giving 4 tickets away and so we jumped on it and decided to go. And we were all really glad we did

As the game got later the lights turned off and it took them 30 minutes to get them back on. In the mean time they played music and had a few competitions to pass the time

Along with the other activities we got in line for some ice cream. Thanks to the delay we didn't miss the entire game. We waited 45 minutes! I think they need a better process. But the kids did enjoy the ice cream and snow cone.

I love this man and the support he is to me. I can be difficult and demanding and so how he figures out how to balance it all. I knew from the time I started dating him he was a good one and Im thrilled that God found it a good idea to give him to me.
The fireworks were awesome and all the kids were so good. It was a fun night. We loved the fireworks and had great seats. On the way back to the car we got poured on luckily we hadn't parked far away.

Moving & Baking

Since Chris and Krissy found out they were expecting a family friend offered them their basement to live for free. They decided to take them up on it so Matt went to help them get all moved. Krissy had to work so Chris packed and moved everything. I don't know that I would let Matt do that but it would be easier for me for sure. When your newlyweds and have few things they are really easy to move

While Matt was gone helping them move. I went on a crazy baking frenzy but it was all very yummy. I feel like when I have a lot on my mind I tend to bake. I feel like there is a lot in the air right now. We are contemplating switching jobs which may or may not mean moving, I feel conflicted with working because of the demand it puts on Matt on top of all the stress he carries already. I feel like we should have another baby but Matt doesn't and I think that's partially because of the stress he already carries. All of this will eventually work its way out but for today its all just undecided stuff that majorly effects our family

A Night at the Rodeo

Matt and I made some great memories both before we had kids and after. The last couple years life has gotten in the way of making it to the rodeo...not this year. So we bought tickets and went and it was so worth it. We ended up buying the kids tickets once we got there and picked up some great adult tickets on the classifieds.

We all really loved it. The kids were all so fascinated and were pretty consistently glued to what was going on
The girls loved the clown and he was pretty funny
During the breaks we tried to take a selfie and got this...we laughed so hard we almost peed our pants

The girls were so excited that we stayed long enough for them to see the motorcycles. They're faces made it all worth it. These girls make life so fun

Afterwards the girls got to meet the riders..they were pretty excited
We loved the rodeo and are trying to make plans to go to the Box Elder County fair rodeo. I can't wait to take them again

When Daddy's Away We Play

Matt spends a lot of time traveling for work and for a long time I held up in the house with the girls but have decided that life still needs to keep moving even though he's gone. The lake has been a great escape for us. We bought a pass and we have definitely have put it to use. These girls make life so fun

We bought some water guns, beach toys(specific for the lake), and the paddle boards that we bought last summer. It has been so fun

Once in a while we head to Joy's to have dinner and hang out. This specific time is from when Tiff was here and we went up to get more time together
We also got to go to Ulta and got some "make overs" and they all loved it
We miss our daddy terribly when he's gone but we are learning to continue to live while he's gone

Leta's Pool Day

Leta's pool party is something we look forward to every summer. Last summer they didn't have any since one of her neighbors little girls drowned in the neighbors pool. So we were so excited to give it a try again. The endless snow cones, popcorn, and snacks everyone brings to share. There are also a tn of friends to play with

We had a great time and hope this is a tradition we can continue.

Brower Family Vacation

At the beginning of the summer we were all concerned that we wouldn't have much beach to play on because of all the wonderful moisture we have received but as the summer has gone on the beach has peeked out. So the day before everyone arrived the girls and I headed down to see what we could find. Hallie was at a play date so we had fun without her....although it is really odd to only have 2 kids.
Becuase we were just going to scope out the beach I didn't put the girls in their swimsuits and Em definitely made me realize that was a mistake quickly. This girl loves the lake and everything about it
After we picked up Hallie we went back to play and then Gracie decided she wasn't feeling good. She just wanted to sit on my lap while the other girls played...which was ok with me
Friday we were happy to get on the water on the beautiful day. It didn't take long for the kids to decide they wanted to ski. They all did great

Matt and Carson kneeboarding(for the first time)

Somehow we talked Joy into tubing with us. We had a fun little ride and what the memories we made
These kids were tubing fools
Our beach spot

Hallie skiing...she's gotten really good this summer
Uncle Nick on double skis
She was so tired and finally gave in and went to sleep. I love when she sleeps when I hold her

As the storm rolled in we quickly got everything gathered and headed for the ramp only to run out of gas! I mean come on we looked like amatures! As we sat in the middle of the lake we tried to figure out what to do. We started paddling with the paddle board ores but we didn't get far. They we luckily saw a boat coming and waved them down. They were nice enough to town us in. About half way to the ramp it started pouring. I quickly tucked Em under my feet to keep her out of the weather and the constructed Tiff a place to stay out of the weather. It was freezing and it felt like the tow took forever but we made it. Matt jumped out to get the truck and I stood freezing in the water. Some teenage boys saw me and offered to help so they helped me wade thru the water to the ramp. By that point Matt was waiting for me so we pulled the boat onto the trailer and headed home. I don't know that I have even been that thrilled to go home...lol

That evening we had grilled pizza(because they are fast) and enjoyed just hanging out and visiting while we got warm. Saturday the boys golfed in the morning and we prepped everything for dinner and made Carson a birthday cake and then headed down to Maddy and Kenzie's soccer game. Then we came back and were so thrilled we were all able to be together. We ate dutch over and played a new game called 9 square it was a huge hit. We may be building ourselves one in the near future.

Sunday Carson received the priesthood we were happy to be there for the ordination but after we were all so tired but we went to have dinner and then bailed early. Sometimes I have no desire to be involved in the conversations that are sometimes had. Kerry started giving Matt crap about not coming to help him on the house and I was done. He never asks him with enough notice for Matt to make sure he is there and he is gone a lot so I was annoyed so we decided to call it a day and a weekend
Im glad that everyone decided to still come together and do this weekend despite the situation with Brayden. I think it was good for us to be together and do something fun
