Last "Day" of School Pictures

It has been a strange year but we are trying to do as many "normal" things as we can. Even though the kids haven't been in school for weeks I wanted to document there "last day" of the school year. I though about it 10 different times and then ultimately gave up and just took them in their pjs(because we spend a lot of time in pjs).
Emy's Last Day of Preschool

Hallie's Last Day of 5th Grade
Gracie's Last Day of 2nd Grade
Liam kept photo bombing the girls so we let him have his own turn

Helping Nate With Yard Work

Nate recently moved to Utah County to go to Physical Therapy school. One of his best friends from high school owns a house there and he and his family were moving for the summer to sell alarms so Nate was able to live there until he found somewhere to live and some roommates in the fall when they would return. Because of covid he had all of his classes online, lived alone, and didn't have a way to get to know anyone. Nate found he was really struggling and needed more of a purpose. Their yard was, to put it nicely, a big mess. So one weekend Matt and I loaded everything up and headed to help. It was fun to see Nate and have a project to work on together with him.
The girls and I tackled the flower beds. There was a rock waterfall under all the dead debris and dirt and to our surprise it still worked. While we worked on that Matt showed Nate how to start and run the lawn mower and weed eater. I was raise using all of the yard tools and we did it often. I didn't realize that my two younger siblings(Nate and Maddi) didn't get the same up bringing living somewhere where they didn't have much of a yard.

We definitely still have a lot of work to do another week but I was happy to see the progress we did get done. The kids were a great help and we enjoyed Cafe Rio to round out all our hard work. We were all tired and ready to head home.

Memorial Day-Visiting Great Grandma and Grandpas

For Memorial Day we got together with Nic and her family to visit both Grandpa Norr and Grandpa Harris. We spent most of our time in Deweyville. Nic brought Snickers to share(Grandpa Norr's favorite) we also were able to wander around and find numerous other family members that are also buried at the same cemetery.

On the way home we stopped for lunch at Maddox it was yummy and a good way to end the day

Another Week of Covid

Not much extra crazy going on around here but I want to document life even though quarantine remains in place. Gracie is getting quite good at painting nails and I am learning to let go of the little things at times and let Emy paint Gracie's too.
Liam has started climbing more and more and we have had to do time out a couple times for him climbing on the table and counter. It's hard to punish him after all he has been through but we feel confident he is going to be healthy moving forward so we can't just let him do as he pleases. He is still a great eater. And now that it is corn season he is eating as much as he can get.
He is also getting smarter by the second. I used to be able to sit things on the counter and think they were safe but he has since found out that step stools exist and now nothing is safe. One afternoon I came down the stairs to find him drinking one of the girls root beers. We haven't given him soda intentionally so he thought it was an awesome treat. It was hard not to laugh but he was pretty pleased with himself
The girls seem to really be enjoying Liam being more interactive and less of a baby. he now wants to be where they are and what they are doing. He even wants to sit in the middle so he can get as much popcorn as possible during the movie. Although he doesn't hold still for long he is starting to take interest in things like that.

Time With Gracie

Gracie and I got to escape the houses and go do some grocery shopping. Although it seemed like something very mundane now with Covid it's a fun thing to look forward to. I really enjoy one on one time with the kids as they get older and have more thoughts and opinions. Grocery shopping used to seem mundane at times but now it is a nice way to escape the house.
Gracie is a sweet and kind little girl. She has a light about her that brings light to those around her. She is a friend to all and was awarded the peacemaker for her class this last year.
Gracie's teachers drove all over the valley delivering each of the kids their awards. Gracie loved her gifts and seeing her teachers.

6462 Summit Cove-Footings & Foundations

May 13th-31st
It's fun to see something other than dirt being moved around and something in this hole that we have been looking at.

Although they aren't straight the footings are in
Liam loves all the big equipment that is around. He seem fascinated by the sheer size of all of it.

Now time for foundation walls.

And then your child decides to climb in the concrete washout and isn't very happy when he slips and falls and now all cold and wet.

Matt had to climb on top of the foundations to pound out where the beams will go for the suspended slab. I'm not going to lie it made me nervous.

Emy's Art Walk & Graduation

Since nothing can be "normal" with COVID everyone has had to get creative and preschool art show and graduation was no exception. Ms. Syrina had a walk, ride, run thru art show. She had an open house and invited everyone to do what they felt comfortable with and so come see all the art the kids had done throughout the year. We rode our bike from The Jacksonville Campground just off the main highway. Emy was so excited to be back in her element and showing us all the cool stuff she had created.

This one is my favorite

For graduation she had us pick a time and we came individually for a special ceremony and prizes. She played the graduation music as Emy came down. We all clapped and cheered as she was presented and received her awards. Afterwards we had refreshments, took pictures, and then rode the zip line before heading back home. I was really appreciative that she chose to go the extra mile so the kids could still do all the fun things at the end of preschool.
