Nate's Homecoming Weekend

While Matt was working on the house the girls and I worked on getting everything ready to head to Vegas and while the girls napped I was happy to hold Em and just watch her sleep. I don't think there are many things more peaceful than a sleeping baby.

The girls love packing their own bags. Since it was a 9:40 pm flight we put the girl in their pjs before we left. Gracie chose her Wonder Women pjs with the cape.
Luckily for us the flight was only half full so we got to leave Em in her car seat for the flight. She slept most of the flight but woke up just before we landed. The girls all did really well on the flight.
Matt let the girl listen to music which they thought was pretty cool. They also spent a lot of time looking out the window due to the fact that it was Pioneer day there were a ton of fireworks to watch it was really cool.

Saturday morning we got some swimming and a nap in before getting ready for Nate's party
Luke is a total fish and does so well at swimming its fun to watch him
My mom had a vision of this palm tree she really wanted to so for Nate's Party. Thanks to a handy son in law Ez build the structure and made it happen. It was a fiesta theme. Kimber made some realyy yummy churro cupcakes and 7-layer dip cups to tie into the tacos for the theme.
She even cut the palm leave off of her plants in the yard

That night after the party there was of coarse more swimming before bedtime...it was so hot it made it hard to not swim
Sunday was Nate's homecoming. It was so good. Nate did an amazing job. Most missionaries talk about random people they taught without a real cohesiveness with the talk but Nate had a purpose to every story he told. I enjoyed church more in Vegas than I have in a very long time. I felt like the lessons we had were just what I needed. That night Nate gave the kids the presents he had brought home for them. Hallie got a hand painted jewelry box that is her favorite color...blue and Gracie got a hand carved bird. They are both really cool. Matt and I got a blanket that is really beautiful
We also sat around and just hung out. Nate got out his guitar for Matt to play while we sang and just listened.

It was a busy weekend and these 2 were feeling it. Don't they look so sweet together?!?
I think almost everyone got a nap on Sunday including these tired dads. Ez and Matt totally crashed
That night while preparing for family prayer the kids were settled onthe grass when Riggs decided to make it into a duck duck goose game. It was hard to not laugh eventually we got settle and completed family prayer.
Monday morning Kimber called to see if we wanted to go with her to her ultrasound. Her dr office has been quite the pain in the butt about seeing her and the baby. She was finally tired of it and called a place like fetal photos and set up an appt. Mom, Nic, Kinley, and Luke went to see how things were going. The girls and Riggs stayed with Matt and Nate. She is 16 wks and 6 days in this picture. She was also able to find out that she is having a GIRL!!
On the way back we stopped to get Luke's swim stuff and next thing we knew he had them on! He was definitely ready for a swim break
Emery even got in on the action this time but mostly she just sat in the shade watching all the action.

That evening we had family pictures. It was a little crazy we drove 40 minutes and sat on a log with weeds in the background! I guess we will see how they turned out but I wasn't super impressed with the photographer. I will admit she did everything quickly so that made all of the guys quite pleased.
After a quick bite to eat we packed our stuff once again and headed for the airport. It was going to be another late night but the girl were great. Our flight was delayed for about an hour so we ended up home just after 2 am...like I said another late night! The following morning the girls slept until 10:30 we were all pretty exhausted and have been catching up a little more each day.

Then I found these on my phone. This girl gets extra silly when she is tired

It was a fun and busy weekend. We are glad to be home and even more happy about the fact that we will all be together again next weekend for Emery's blessing. Welcome home Nate! We are so glad you are back!

Framing Day 5-July 24th

North East Corner

 North View
Our Master bedroom and bathroom windows. Matt text me Friday morning and said I think our bedroom window is bigger than I anticipated. I wasn't sure if he meant that as a good or a bad thing. After a few more texts back and forth he sent me this picture. We talked and decided it will be awesome, We are planning on putting in a window seat to sit and look out this window to the beautiful view
I can see more and more everyday the shape the house is taking! Its really exciting. While Matt has been building the girls and I have been working on the decorating elements I can't wait
Friday Ben, Jon, and Matt worked until about 5:30 then they called it a dya since we had a flight to catch. We are headed to Vegas for the weekend for my brothers homecoming and to spend some time together. I think this is coming at a great time Matt physically needs a break he has been working hard and long hours!

Who is in Emery's Chair?

These two silly girls love to sit in Emery's chair to watch tv. The other day I came down the stair to them laughing that they had both fit in it and of coarse they wanted a picture.

Framing Day 3 & 4-July 22-23

The Wed the 22nd Jon and Matt spent most of the day putting in blocking before starting the sheeting of the floor. Kerry and Nick also came up to help them get the sheeting on. Its so crazy to me how much more they get done with more just a couple more people. They came home in time for a late dinner since it was raining and they were just plain old flat out exhausted. Here is when they were working on all of the blocking in.
 And then the sheeting

Thursday the 23rd they Jon, Matt, and Ben were able to get the remainder of the floor on and get a great start on the walls.
 Yeah we have a floor!

The girls and I brought up dinner and ready to work. Matt had mentioned that the work site needed to be cleaned up. Rather than having him waste his time and energy doing that the girls and I did that for a couple hours after we finished dinner. Emery was so good I fed her before we left and she slept until we were ready to head for home so we got a lot accomplished for sure.
