Happy Thanksgiving

We debated back and forth about heading to Vegas for Thanksgiving but now that grandma and papa moved to a smaller house it just didn't make sense to go and stay in a hotel for Thanksgiving. So we decided that even if it was just us that we were staying home. Lucky for us Nic and Ky had the same thought so we had Thanksgiving together. We made these cute hats in nursery to remind us for what we're thankful for.
The weather on Thanksgiving was abnormally warm which was nice because the kids were able to play outside! Some years this is unheard of. Nic and Kyle came in the morning and we decided to do brisket.

Unfortunately it needed to cook way longer than what we had time for. Finally at 7 we gave in and ate dinner. We were all a little disappointed the meat wasn't great but we have an idea what we want to do different next time for sure. It was fun to spend the day with Nic and Kyle. Nic helped me with my tree and the boys did whatever they do
We also took the kids to see Cocoa it was so good and all the kids loved it. In the beginning there was a short Frozen video and Em was hooked I couldn't even get her to look for a picture

After the movie we met up with Nic and Ky for dinner. It was so crazy busy but luckily Matt and the kids found us all a booth while we waited in line
I feel like we are in a transition period of creating our own family traditions since we no longer want to travel for holidays since there is no where for us to stay. It was a fun weekend but we still have some different things to try before we figure it all out.

Yard Work, Costume, Cupcakes, and Cuddles

After the excavator put in all the drainage it was up to us to replace the mulch. Matt ordered it and it showed up on a ok afternoon so we dressed in our snow clothes and got to work. I moved the mulch and the girls would spread it. It went quickly although its never quick enough but we did it. I want the girls to learn that they can get anything in life if they work for it.
Gracie got her dance costume and she loves it and I love the way her face lights up when she gets so excited to put it on and get so excited to get all dolled up
Em wanted her picture to. She looks like a little Linus with her blankie
One day after school Gracie really wanted to make cupcakes so thats just what we did

We love cuddles at our house and Em's favorite place in the mornings is on my lap watching a show
And now that Gracie can read Em frequently bring her books to read to. I love that all our girls love each other
Enjoying the little moments that one day will be the moments I miss the most

First Snow & Sleigh Ride

It finally snowed...not very much but it snowed! Look at this beautiful and chilly sunset
When we bought a 4-wheeler to help plow the driveway I had other plans in mind and pulling the kids behind in the sled was at the top of them. It didn't disappoint.

Such a fun thing and just the beginning of all the fun

Top Golf & Nick Surprise Birthday Party

It seems like when we have fun things that they all seem to be in the same weekend and this was such a weekend. The Steel associations party this year was at Top Golf. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't care for golf, partially because Matt is constantly trying to convince me that I love it. But I decided to go with an open mind and it was a really fun time. I am super competitive and it didn't take long for that to kick in.

It was a fun night and I might even go back again
Saturday night Brit threw Nick a birthday party but unfortunately it was an adult only and we had a hard time finding a babysitter so we only had a couple hours. They were having Hawaiian haystacks and neither Matt nor I like them so we stopped for Panda Express and it was a good call. It was fun to see some of Mat's family and tell Nick happy birthday before we called it an early night.
The ride there and back may have been my favorite because I get Matt all to myself and he is less distracted by everything when he's driving..lol

Tucanos & Disney on Ice

What a fun night! Matt and I saw an ad for Disney on Ice on tv and decided to surprise the girls and buy tickets. When we told them they screamed and were so excited. We took them to a fun Brazilian steakhouse where they bring the meat around on sticks. It quickly became a favorite place to eat for all of us. I love the girls faces in all these pictures

Once we had our bellies full we headed over to the Vivint Center. From the moment a character stepped out on the ice the girls were mesmerized.

What is with the look on Em's face?

Of coarse Anna and Elsa were a favorite

Because of some technical difficulties we got to hear Let It Go twice
This sweet girl is growing up and I find that I appreciate that she loves me more and more the older she gets. She still thinks Im cool and loves having me around. She is such a sweet kid that can be so helpful and kind

This sweet girl is growing up but still likes us to treat her like she's little. She is a cuddler and really like hugs and kisses. She is also so very tender hearted and the most considerate child ever

It was such a magical night. Matt and I talked on the way home about how it wouldn't have mattered how much the night cost that it was totally worth it. Nights like tonight are the reason that we work so hard. We love these 3 little girls God has entrusted us with and would do anything and everything for them

Matt has also gotten really good with his smoker. The food has been awesome and I love all the new things we try
These crazy kids love to read in my bed. I often find them like this and I guess if they're safe and entertained its ok
Nic and I snuck away one night to the holiday treasure show
Gracie was invited to her first birthday party. They painted, danced, and had cupcakes
While Gracie was at the party Hallie was at choir so we snuck in to watch
