San Diego-Day 6-Birch Aquarium

We weren't sure what our plan would be the day that we flew out. Its hard figuring out when we would get out of the hotel and how much time it would take to get anywhere in California. To our surprise we got out early and were able to get a last minute reservation for the aquarium. They had some cool things
I loved this giant succulent pot on the sidewalk.

They had a small area outside that overlooked the ocean with some small tide pool with a few things in them the kids could touch.

After we had plenty of time before we needed to head to the airport so we tried out a bbq place several people had recommended calls Phil's. The food was freakishly huge but yummy. Then we headed to the airport to go home. It was a great trip since it had been awhile since we have traveled and not to far from home.

San Diego-Day 5-Swimming

This was the day of our trip that we decided to just hang around the hotel and play in the pool. It's always nice on vacation to have a day you have no where to be and nothing to do. The kids all loved having so time playing with dad in the pool and practicing with mom in the pool. We also enjoyed just getting some sun. Shortly before we decided to leave Liam tripped and fell on the textured concrete and tore up his knee. He was so sad so I headed back tot he room to get him taken care of and then he was ok.

San Diego-Day 4-Sea World

I have always loved SeaWorld. It seems like the perfect combination of animals and rides. Unfortunately with covid the rides weren't running so I wasn't sure how long we would spend there but we had a full day without the rides. We really enjoyed all the shows and watched the dolphin and whale shows 2 times each and each time the girls wanted to sit closer and closer to the splash zone. Matt and I decided the 2nd time for each show that we would let the girls sit alone because we didn't want to get wet so we kept Liam with us in the dry zone. They never got as soaked as they thought they would but they definitely got more wet than we did.

The penguins are always a favorite

The whale tank was so dirty and sadly it was really hard to see the whales but we caught a few

We stayed until closing which we never anticipated but we had so much fun we didn't want to leave. A bonus of that is we got a front row seat to the fireworks that night. PS I still love SeaWorld
Can you tell where Gracie had her mask and where she didn't?

San Diego-Day 3 Aerospace Museum & Tide Pools

After our last trip to San Diego we decided the city go passes were the way to go. You can see quite a few things for a small price. We didn't see any museums last time we came so this time we decided to do a few. The aerospace museum was on the list.

They had some really fun interactive displays that we learned a lot from.
Each of the girls wanted to take their turn laying in the landing module of the space ship but Liam wasn't impressed.

Liam loved all the buttons and controls

The 2nd stop for the day was the tide pools. We drove along the coast line and watched the waves and got to the pools just in time for low tide. The girl immediately found a few friends and played int he water while Matt and I wandered and explored with Liam.

We didn't see much but we all found seashells so the kids were happy with that

Then back to the hotel for dinner and some more pool time. Oh have I mentioned the pool is heated. It is heavenly cooler than a hot tub but warmer than a regular pool temp. So much fun after a day running around and yes the girls are still asking to go back to Casa Guadalajara
