October Random

The kids have started their Christmas lists so we can get shopping with the possible toy shortage with the also possible railroad strike

We've got quite the army at this point
Poop prizes live on and he just keeps making some great progress with regularity
Liam has been learning about the letters in his name at preschool. He can name all of them in order but writing them were still working on
The times you dress up with your sister
As nursery leaders we have been taking the class into primary to practice as the new year is approaching. Liam was resistant at first but has come around quickly. He is learning the songs and I hear him singing them at home often. This day he was chosen to lead.
Sometimes crazy things happen and this was one of those things. I got a call from my Uncle Chris on a Sunday afternoon explaining to me that my cousin, Carson's, baby had been life flighted to Primary Children's and they needed help with their 18 month old. I of coarse said yes and got the ball rolling. Nate and Kennady were coming up to have dinner and hang out so they picked Blakely up in Utah county and brought her with us. It was a little weird for sure. I haven't seen my cousin since we were kids and they had no idea how long I would have her. It took her a while to warm up to us. Im sure her last 24 hrs being passed around and staying in a hotel had been hard. I put her in a pack n play in our closet so I could hear her when she slept at night and napped during the day.
Liam seemed to like having a buddy and the second day she started coming out of her shell. Shortly after lunch Carson called me to let me know they were on the way to get Blakely and she and Carson were going to go back to St George while Carson's wife stayed with their baby in the hospital. I was a little sad and a little relieved. I was happy that I could help and told them I'd love to get together another time on different circumstances.
Here is crazy hair day

Happy Halloween

I was scheduled to work on Halloween so the kids got to have a day home with Matt and as soon as I got home Matt left to go to the Jazz game with his dad. The kids and I headed to our old neighborhood and then to Huntsville town. By the time we got to town it seemed like Halloween was kinda over. Alot of people had shut off their lights and were wrapping up even though it was only 7. I felt bad like we should have come here first. We found the Keys, Binghams, and Evans with their truck and trailer and they said the kids could all ride with them so I just followed in my car. And of coarse who doesn't like to trick or treat on a trailer?!

One fun thing about working the holiday is I was given our raise and I got to see mine early because I was at work that day. I don't know if I ever saw the day that I would make what I do an hour now but Im grateful I got my education when I did and have that to rely on when I need to.
The candy haul is always crazy and I end up having the kids pick their favorites, we put some candy aside for our Primary Children's Valentine's deliveries, and we send the rest to their teachers at school to use as they need it.
Milo hates being dressed up but it's funny for a minute. This year he was a space dog
Matt had all the kids ready to go and even remembered to take pictures which I was grateful for because I was so tired I didn't remember until we were back home and everyone was ready for bed.
Meanwhile Matt and  his dad had a great time at the game. I had to hear about it the next day because I was so tired and was totally out before Matt even left Salt Lake. But we made it all work and got everyone where they needed to be and had fun along the way.

Hallie's Halloween Party

About mid October Hallie asked if she could have Halloween party. Initially I was a little hesitant because her group of friends can be so fickle with how they are getting along but we decided to give it a shot. She invited 19 friends and only one couldn't make it. It was for sure the biggest friend party we have ever had. Hallie put together a couple games and we decided to just do pizza to make it simple. They started with the saran wrap ball game. It was a hit and they all got very into it. So much that they tore a hole in the oven mit they were using.

Then they played hungry hungry hippos. They were hilarious to watch thru the window upstairs
We had pizza and then they watched the second Top Gun. I was overall really impressed and happy with how the party went. It's crazy to think that Hallie is old enough to have parties like this but Im happy we have a house and the means to have parties like these so we know where our kids are and we are getting the chance to know their friends.

Ward Halloween Party & Trunk or Treat

This year Halloween is on a Monday and the district decided to have all the schools be out for a prep day. So because of that they all had parties on the Friday prior. It also happened to be our ward Halloween party and dinner that night. The girls were so excited to get all dressed up and ready to go. They were pretty decisive this year and didn't change their minds a bunch of times. Emy wanted to be Hermine from Harry Potter...thank you Costco for the perfect and affordable costume.

Gracie really wanted to be Sleeping Beauty I really thought she would change her mind but she remembered a dress that Joy had in her costume collection and so she called and asked if she could borrow it and she was all set.

Once we got the girls off to school Liam and I made cupcakes for the ward party that night and they were fun to make and turned out really cute.

At the party after dinner they had several carnival games for the kids to play. They wandered around and played games while we visited so I didn't get many pictures. After the games we headed outside to the trunk or treat in the parking lot. We invited so of our new neighbors to come and get to know some more people so that was fun and a good way to get to know them. Also we had some ward friends that don't usually come but they came to the trunk or treat only problem was they started a little bit early so they missed out on a little bit of it. So we ended up standing in the parking lot visiting for quite a while. It was a fun day overall. I don't love most of Halloween because of all the gross scary stuff but parties like to day are so fun.

Liam's Halloween Program

Meet the most dedicated and passionate 3yr old firefighter you'll probably every meet. While at Disneyland one morning at breakfast there was a new show on the tv called Fire Buds and Liam was hooked. We started recording it as soon as we got home and it has quickly become one of Liam's favorite shows. There is a song called Im a fire fighter and he has some pretty great moves. This was him getting ready for the preschool parade.

The little boy in green next to him is his best friend Greg.
He did such a great job and sang all the songs and of coarse the dance moves.
PS He is loving preschool

October Jazz Games

Its that time of the year...Jazz basketball season. But this year is different than all the others. Matt finally got his dream come true and we bought season tickets! We decided that an entire season was both to much time and more money than we wanted to spend. We split the tickets with Jamie and parker Cornaby, our friends. Our seats are in one of the corners on row 10 so we have a great view of the game. The half season cost us 8K so that was plenty. We have all taken turns going and so far its been fun.

NJHS Induction Ceremony

Hallie was invited to be part of the Junior Honor Society for her hard work and good grades. They had an induction dinner and ceremony. We left the kids home with Gracie and headed to the Jr High. We are so happy for Hallie and proud of her and all her hard work and persistence because there were days it wasn't easy.

Norr Family Reunion

They did a first ever Norr family reunion with my dad and all of his cousins. I was unsure in the beginning if we would go but we decided to go and not stay to long if it was boring. Before we went over to the reunion we stopped to see ducky grandma(Grandma Joyce). She had a batch of new kitties and the kids couldn't wait to play with them.

Then we walked back to the Holmgren farms and too the reunion. They had done a great job setting everything up but I didn't know more than a couple people. Most of the cousins I grew up with weren't there so it wasn't that great. But we sat with my parents and had a good visit. They had a bigger turn out than they expected so we were all pretty squished in there.

While I visited with my parents Matt took the kids down tot he lake to tell them about all the adventures he had there as a kid. Lots of memories at this farm.
