1st Week of Summer

So far we are loving summer and the cooler temps for now. We have been getting out and walking in the morning. Each summer we try to get into a schedule and it is a hard transition but in all reality I'm loving the no schedule. I love having the time to do what I want with the kids
We have spent plenty of time in our swimsuits and playing outside. This afternoon I came in to find Em with the nutella and eating it off the plastic knife
I had to have some allergy testing to see if they can find the base of my ulcerlative colitis.
Unfortunately nothing came back positive so we are still at square one
We have been sleeping in and just relaxing
Bedtimes have been pretty non existence which makes some long days and sleeping pretty much anywhere at anytime. Although this isn't the norm the days do happen
Can't wait til the rest of summer to see what we come up with to do

1st Trip Of The Season

The weather is finally warming enough to get the boat out and do some playing
But I think everyone else thought the same thing

We were so ready to get on the lake. But when we got there the water was a little on the cooler side so we settled with riding the paddle boarding and just relaxing in the boat
Both girls have gotten so good at the paddle board. We tied them to the back of the boat and just let the girls paddle around and if they got nervous or got to far they could pull the rope to get back

We did some dancing

But as boating does when you get relaxed it makes you sleepy. Em was the first to give in
Then Gracie....next to the music speaker
And last but not least Hallie
Matt and I enjoyed floating around in quiet and just relaxed as well. None of them slept very long before we decided to load up and head home so we could have some dinner. It was a fun trip and just what we needed

Grandma & Papa Come to Visit

We were so excited when Mom, Dad, and Maddi made the trip to visit after Nic had her baby and it just so happened that they were here for Gracie's last soccer game. Gracie was so excited
After the game the kids played on the playground with everyone and loved it. Hallie and Gracie swing with papa on this contraption while Em did the monkey bars with grandma

When we got home we put together the big wheels we bought for the kids and grandma and papa had brought with them

Then Grandma and Papa headed to Nic's and we had lunch and hung out

That night we grilled dinner and had cheesecake for dessert. After we had eaten and everyone had cleared the kitchen I found this little love in the cheesecake
Once it started to get dark we headed to make smores on the fire pit. This is one of the girls favorite things

It was a fun but short weekend getting to spend some time with everyone

Hallie's Last Day of 2nd Grade

I think we're all pretty thrilled that schools out for the summer. Hallie has grown and changed so much. She still loves to read, is excelling at piano, is a super big helper(most of the time), and is great at loving her sisters.

We are all pretty thrilled to have her home with us

Working On Our Green Thumbs

This summer the girls and I decided we are going to focus on gardening and learn new things about it. So....we're planting a garden and flowers
We are definitely getting dirty along the way
We got all of our dirt...which was more than we were planning
It was a ton of work to spread it all out
And our flowers are doing great and are beautiful
And our plants are all alive too

A Pretty Terrible Weekend

On Sunday evening I got a call from Ashley that one of the women in our ward had collapsed in her yard and had been Lifeflighted to Ogden. Long story short her heart had stopped! She died twice on the way to the hospital and ultimately died 7 days after her first collapse. She left behind a husband and 3 young kids(10, 8, and 5). It has been super hard not only on the family but also the community. It has been a great reminder to hold your family older.
Later that night Teann called me and I immediately knew something was wrong. It didn't take long for her to tell me that Kade had fallen off the ladder and was in trouble. While I was talking to her I told Matt what had happened and he ran to see what he could do while I found my nurse bag full of supplies. When we got there we found him on the front porch laying on the concrete. We assessed the situation thinking about possibly driving him to the hospital. After realizing that he couldn't get up, was disoriented, and in a ton of pain we talked Teann into calling the ambulance. They were there within minutes to take him to get the help he needed. He ended up with bruised ribs, a concussion, stitches in his chin, and a bunch of cuts and bruises. I think hes lucky thats all he got. That night Matt and bishop followed Teann to the hospital and I attempted to keep track of all of our kids sleeping between 2 houses. Luckily Jill was willing to stay at Teann's house while I got Em to bed and set up the intercom with the kids. I ran back and forth every 30 minutes to check on everyone. It was exhausting. The twins got up multiple times but settled after a bottle. I started dishes at about 4am to stay awake. Matt came home so I at least didn't have to worry about our kids being home alone. About 30 minutes later Kade and Teann came home so I could head home and go to bed.
It was a rough night in Huntsville that I don't think we will ever forget and hope it never happens again

Recital Preview

I love watching the girls dance. I love helping them get ready and all dolled up. The recital preview was the girls first performance this year and they both did great.

After Matt took Hallie & Gracie's picture she really wanted a turn
