Zoo Day with Cousins

We haven't been doing much other than working on the house so it was fun to get away and go to the zoo. I never realized growing up how blessed I am to have sisters that are in the same stage of life that I am and they truly are my best friends. I love the time I get to spend with Nic and her kids I just wish it was more. The zoo, for several years, has been our place. In years past I have had a membership so it has been "free" to go. For the price of the membership I only have to take my family twice to pay for it so needless to say it is a good option for us. Because of covid we had to make reservations but otherwise it wasn't bad. We have a route we follow and then at the end we usually let the kid choose either the train or the carousel but today we did both. It was so good to be out in the sunshine doing something we enjoy

Hair Cuts for All

While Maddi was here for the party I had her cut everyone's hair. She did a pretty good job with some minor adjusting. Gracie's was the biggest change and she had been wanting to cut her hair for a long time. I think they all look super cute with their new hair

Happy 11 Hallie

Hallie's birthday was on Saturday this year but Friday n ight we went out to her favorite place...Pizza Pie Cafe. She got to bring her best friend, Paige and then she slept over. Before going to be she begged to open some of her gifts and we decided to let her decide. She was super excited

This was her face pretty much every time she opened anything. She got a rock set that you have to sort out all of the rocks into different categories. She also got a geode puzzle.
And a squishee she has been wanting for months
She requested a geode cake and I was a little nervous I wouldn't be able to deliver but after driving all over Ogden I was able to find some rock candy sucker in the colors I needed and I think it turned out pretty good. The inside was 3 different shades of purple. Hallie totally freaked out when she saw it. She said it was better than she imagined it would be. She loved it and that was all that mattered to me.

Hallie really wanted to have a party this year. I was a little hesitant since we don't have the space to host and we are in the middle of building the house but I really wanted Hallie to be able to invite some new friends...so I said yes. Thank heavens Maddi came to help me. I was so grateful for her. We painted nails, made and put on face scrubs, made hand scrub, and a few other games. When I was younger we always played the balloon game. The object is to be the last one with their balloon not popped. I thought it would last 5 seconds but they played for 30 minutes. They had a ball and won some prizes in the process.

She received 2 of the same gift but she was super excited because she loves geodes

The refreshment table
It ended up being a blast. We ended up running out of time and most of the girls took their cake to go. Hallie even put together little gift bags. I had taken the girls to a rock shop the week before and Hallie had picked out a party favor rock necklace for each of the girls. Hallie loved the rock shop and I'm sure we'll go back soon. It was such a fun break to celebrate Hallie and get to know a few more of her friends. I can't believe the little girl that made me a mom is 11!! Where does the time go?!? She is turning into such a beautiful young women that is super helpful and my right hand. She has been so helpful with the house both at the house and watching Liam so I can get things done. She will do great things for her life. I'm so grateful she is ours.

6462 E Summit Cove-Barn Door

One night while scrolling thru the classifieds I saw this barn door and hardware for $100. I immediately put my name on the growing list. I was 5 people down and figured it would never get to me but the next morning I had a message that it had gotten to me. I was super excited. Last time we did a barn door the hardware alone was more that $100 bucks. I immediately text Matt and he said it would work great. Matt went to pick it up and it wasn't a color we wanted but everything else was awesome.

It was fun to have a little project. I sanded it and started staining it the right color. It looked so good. It took a couple days but with some help I was able to get both sides stained.

I should have taken more progress pictures but I'll do better next time. I love how it turned out. It is the perfect addition to our master bedroom
