The "Yummy" Dance

I have found that sourdough bread doesn't bother my gut so I have started experimenting with different  recipes and this one was a complete hit! The girls came up with the "yummy"dance after eating it. It is always so rewarding when your family loves what you eat. It is a baked french toast with a cinnamon sugar crumble on top. It is a definitely one to try again

Livin Up the Rest of Summer-Swimming & an Adventure

Friday we had friends come over to swim with us for a couple hours and then after naps we headed to the house to get some things done. Saturday I wanted to take the girls on an adventure before heading to the lot to take the boys dinner. Every time we drive down Washington the girls are glued to the window so I decided to include them in our adventure. So we loaded up and ran some errands and then I had the girls close their eyes before we parked and got out to see them. They were so excited and Gracie said it was the best day ever! Here are the girls with the horses they love them.

We love to see the temple

Then we went to the temple to eat our picnic in the beautiful shady space
Then Matt called and needed us to get some stuff to take it up to the house for him so we wrapped it up and headed that way. The girls loved it and we can't wait to go back to see the rest of the horses.

I love these girls and their funny sense of humor. Their sense of adventure is so fun and makes everyday...just that an adventure

Happy Girl

What can I say about this little girl!?! She is a complete joy and these smiles and giggles never get old. We are all pretty smitten by her

Week 5-Framing/Mechanical/Fireplace

This week Matt realized the framing is going to slow and he really needed to hire someone else to finish the sheeting on the roof so he could focus on the couple other framing projects(the timber trusses, finishing framing the basement, and the back patio) so luckily he was able to find someone to finish the roof so he could get other things accomplished and not hold up our schedule. Matt got our fireplace framed in so they can come install it.
For now it has become the girls stage where they put on shows and may stay that way when we move in

Wednesday night they were also able to get the beams put up for the back patio trusses

This week other trades have started to come in. The electric and plumbing should start tomorrow or Monday but today they finished the HVAC. Its nice to see things coming togethernow if we can only finish the framing completely!

We are really grateful for all the help we have received but I'm also relieved that Matt has found someone to take over the sheeting for the roof. I think he is way less stressed now that he doesn't have to worry about it anymore. Now the weather is starting to cool down in the morning and evenings...a sure sign of fall. Its time to get this thing dried in and ready for the winter!
These are a few pictures from how week 5 wrapped up. Im so glad we hired the crew to finish the roof I think it would have taken another month before it would have been done.

Saturday the goal was to get the timbers put together and maybe get them up but it went every way but the way we had planned! It was terrible! Matt called and their chain saws weren't working to cut the trusses. Long story short I ended up heading up to take him another chain saw that I picked up from Jon and Steph's house only to get it there and it ran for about 30 minutes and quit! I ended up running to Home Depot to buy a chain saw and various other stuff Matt needed and getting dinner. I made 3 trips up and down the canyon. On top of that with 3 kids, my ulcerlative colitis flaring, and my milk supply decreasing it was a little stressful to say the least. But at the end of the day Matt was able to get this together...I can't wait to see it up on the house.

Living Up with What's Left of Summer---Day at the Zoo

This summer has flown and with everything that has been going on with the house our summer has been pretty much a bust that we are just trying to get thru. Usually our summers are full of days and evenings at the lake and family vacations but sadly this summer has not been that way. Knowing Hallie starts all day school next week is hard for me. I am already missing her and all the time I get to spend with all the girls. So we decided to live up the 6 days we have left before school starts so this morning I called Nic and asked if they wanted to go to the zoo so we loaded up and went. It was a fun day and after about 3 hours it was getting hot so we headed for home. The kids loved the fan misters and the playground the most and we spent a fair amount of time at both of them Im grateful for a sister that will drop all of her daily plans to hang out with us. There is never a shortage of good conversation and laughs. The kids have grown to play so well together and really do love being together. I never realized how my sisters would become my best friends.

Gracie is very into having her picture taken and has so many faces its hilarious

Happy 9 Years to Us

This week was our 9th Anniversary! With everything going on with the house and the framing we had decided not to do anything really but lucky for us Matt had a cancellation at work so we were able to sneak in a lunch date. We ate at Longhorn Steakhouse. It was really good but the company was the best. This house has basically taken over our lives and it was nice to sit down to a meal and not talk about the house and just talk about the rest of our lives. I love Matt more and more all the time. The longer we are married the more I think we become more like the other. He really is my perfect match and couldn't imagine my life without him. Its funny it feels like we have always been married but yet like it was only a couple years ago. Here's to forever

Happy Birthday to Our Friend Hallie

We were lucky enough to be invited to one of the most fun birthday parties we have ever been to. Seriously so awesome. They did a carnival theme and had so many fun things to do. As we arrived we were given a handful of tickets to use for the various activities and the food. They had a balloon artist, a fish pond, a shooting game, a rig toss, and a squirt gun game. The girls played each of the games multiple times and received a variety of prizes from little toys to treats

We had hot dogs, drinks, chips, ice cream, popcorn, and cotton candy
Even the real Coke

After the girls ate they went back to playing games and Em and I sat in the shade and she slept while I watched the girls. Another reason why this was so awesome it was just relaxing.

They had these cute cutouts and props for pictures. The girls thought they were really cool

Unfortunately once we got home and settled for the night the fun ended there. About 2am Gracie woke up throwing up and just not feeling good. It was a long night with lots of cuddles and bathroom trips. I suspect that it was from all the junk food she ate. But we kept her home from church just in case and after a nap, food, and a good night sleep she seems to be back to her old self.
