Gracie 1st Cavity

Gracie was our first to need any dental work minus normal cleanings. I wasn't sure what to expect but she did great. I took Hallie with us so she could get sealants but left Em home with Matt for the morning. We had to wait for 45 minutes after she drank the stuff until she was ready to go back for the cavities. She was so loopy and was falling all over the place it was a good thing I was able to just focus on her because if not she may have hurt herself.

Once in the back they found 3 surface cavities that went pretty quickly and as soon as they were done she was awake and ready to go home with her crooked smile. We stopped by Chilis on the way home which didn't go well so we just headed home to rest

So glad she did well

Matt's Adventures

Matt gets to do some pretty awesome things with his job and although I hate that he has to be gone but Im glad he gets to have some great experiences along the way

Projects

I feel like I have been burnt out for awhile with what I would usually consider fun projects. Lately I feel like I may be getting my crafty-ness back. I think they have turned out so great. We have had this for years and it's always been so ugly and I finally got all the supplies together to make it beautiful. I feel like Im currently in a navy loving phase. 

This mirror I immediately fell in love with and it was only $7 and with a can of spray paint it was as good as new and was the perfect addition to my new craft room

I also found this cradle for $4 and bought it to replace our plastic one that keeps falling apart. Also with a can of spray paint and like brand new

Cuddles & Sewing

Occasionally this little one will cuddle with me until she falls asleep and I try to cherish that the most. These moments never last as long as I hope

We are short blankies and pillows for our babies in nursery so I decided it was a great time to teach the girls to sew. Hallie has tried it a couple times but it had been a while. Im not the best sew-er but I can sew a blanket pretty well so that what we set out to do. We cut out, stuffed, and sewed them. The girls all did great. Hallie even got the the point she could do it alone. My mom never taught me to sew and so I look forward to these moments where I can teach them something and I hope they will do the same when they have kids some day.

Happy Birthday to Me

I was feeling pretty alone on my birthday. Matt did a good job but still had to work so that was a bummer but its life. That afternoon Teann showed up with some balloons and a treat. It didn't matter what it was it was a huge gesture to me. I also received quite a few calls and texts. It was at that moment that I realized that when adults say birthdays are just another day its because they are prepping themselves for the disappointment of another regular day and I decided that Im not ok with that. The gesture of remembering a birthday is a special thing and I want others to feel that.

Matt bought me some great gifts including a pedicure and a massage

Hallie brought home the most thoughtful gift. She had found a piece of ice the shape of a heart on the playground and taken it to the office, asked for a bag, and had them put it in the freezer so she could bring it home. I was so touched she is so thoughtful

This little family of mine makes all the bad and good days totally worth it

Since my birthday fell in the middle of the week we had a birthday party of Saturday. We had Cade and Teann as well as Mark and Hilary. Matt smoked some meat with all the sides and then we had this delicious dessert. 

After we were stuffed we did some just dance with the kids and then played some games while the kids watched a movie. 

What started out as a really sad day ended up being so great. I was reminded that I'm very loved and no matter how old I get that's the best gift I could receive.

Friends and Treehouse Museum

I love this man and the love he has for both me and the girls. He works so hard and Im grateful for the time we get with him although I think I'll always wish it was more.

Erin and the kids came to visit and Em and Garrett  hit it off. They loved playing together

The next afternoon we met up with Nic at Treehouse and the kids loved playing together although Hallie was mad we went without her. I loved this picture I caught of Em playing with Rigs

Cousin love

Skiing-Emy's First Time

On Friday the kids were out of school so Matt took the day off and we took the 2 younger ones skiing. Hallie was at a friends birthday party which ended up being a good thing because then we could do one on one with the other two. They were both so excited look at those cute happy faces

The girls both did great. They were both so nervous at first but after a few loops on the magic carpet they wanted to go up the lift...so we did

Shortly after we called it a day. The girls lasted longer than both Matt or I thought they would a total of 2 hours! We headed home for hot chocolate and naps.

That evening once Hallie made it home everyone but me decided to play the bean boozled game. I can't handle stuff like that. Its where the jelly beans could be a yucky flavored or the regular good ones. They were good sports and I took the pictures.

There was nothing fancy about today although it was fun to share something that Matt and I both love with the girls. But what I loved most is that we got to be together without many distractions....and thats whats life is really about
