Matt's family was so helpful in getting the wall carpet up. While the boys worked on the carpet the girls headed to the storage unit to get it cleaned out. I don't know how we ever would have gotten it done without them.

6462 Summit Cove-Nov 23rd-28th-Power, Appliances, Wallpaper, Carpet, and Timbers & Mantles
I am slightly to obsessed with all the cute wallpaper that is out here right now. I decided to do an accent wall in the pantry. Matt is concerned that it will get covered up and you'll never see the cute paper but I think it will be awesome. Only time will tell. There were a ton of cuts and I would never say that its perfect but I love how it turned out.
When I called Boyles to schedule our appliance delivery I knew we would be pushing the schedule to be ready before Thanksgiving but originally we were hoping to move in by Thanksgiving. So I scheduled the last possible spot before they shut down for the holiday. Which was Wednesday afternoon. So we had them put in the garage until we were ready.
Chris was nice and came up to help Matt put in the appliances while I was working on other things.
The beams looked so good and we only scratched the wall a little(ok maybe more than a little)
When we get to the end in building it feels like we really push the schedule. We wanted to be in by Liam's birthday. We had to do some serious hunting to find a carpet layer that could fit us into their schedule but we did it. Now I want everyone else to stop make a mess in the house so all the pretty finishes will stop getting dirty
We had to take all the doors off the frames for the carpet to go in. The doors in the basement are tall and somehow ended up solid core instead of hollow like we ordered but anyways while I was trying to put the door up it totally fell on me and I caught most of the weight with my leg. I had this crazy bruise to show for it. As I laid on the floor knowing I was there alone and no one was coming to save me I just let the tears flow. It had been such a long process and so much added craziness with COVID. Everything felt like it was taking more time and effort and I was so over all of it. After a few minutes I moved the door to the side and got up. I sat for a few more minutes collecting my thoughts and pulling myself together. It felt good to allow myself to feel all the emotions that had been building for a long time.
At times making decisions on colors that would take time and money to replace are daunting but it seems like when it comes together its reassuring that we know what we are doing and what we like. When I came up one day to find them painting the house was one such moment.

6462 Summit Cove-Nov 16th-21st-Door & Cabinet Hardware, Wallpaper, & Timbers
The kids have quite a routine. They have certain toys that they bring and games that they play while Matt and I get work done.
We are on the home stretch although there is still a ton to do. We are working on putting all the hardware on cabinets and getting door ordered. It's so nice to spend money on things that we will actually see.
I ordered several different wallpapers and finally seeing them on the wall is pretty awesome. Although its a little harder than I anticipated to line all the edges up
Each bathroom gets the same hardware in the coordinating color that matches the rest of the bathroom fixtures. Our cabinet guy was nice and let me borrow his tool to line all the holes up and saved me a TON of time.
After the incident with the biscuit joiner we decided it might just be better to screw them together. We bought about 20 new clamps to make this possible but it has also made the project come together faster.
The cabinets are going in despite the painting not being done. The gray cabinets in the basement are definitely more blue than we anticipated but it matches the tile in the mudroom perfectly. I can't wait until we can pull up all the paper on the floors and clean this place. The painting continues and even though we aren't doing it ourselves it feels like the eternal project. They keep reminding us that this house is big but it just seems to be going on forever.

Doors and doorknobs are goin in and on as they finish painting them and the trim
Cutest helpers around....getting things done while the older 2 are at school
Painting the exterior is also happening. I love the days when I show up and things I dind't know were going to happen already are done.
We made a last minute decision to put the back patio in so we had somewhere in the back to separate the back door from all the mud. I think we'll be glad we made this decision...especially when spring comes.
We will finally be able to pass inspection now that we have an official front step

Matt originally considered hiring someone to do the railing but decided to tackle the project himself. I think at this point he was wishing he had hired someone. It was a lot more work and involved than either of us expected. Next time....hire someone
Lighting started going in. Its so nice to get electricity inside. The braker keeps tripping and we have to run up the hill to reset it. Now it gets dark early and its cold so I'm thrilled to have it inside
The heater into he garage is going up which is huge because they need it in place to put the stuff on the floor.

Getting the beams to the ceiling was a pretty involved process and required some help from our good friend Perry
It's all looking so good but we are SO tired! Pushing on to be done. Our goal is still to be in by Liam's birthday
