With the change in the Huntsville festivities we were at a loss as to what our plans would be for the 4th. Everyone but Kim & Ez would be here so we decided to head up to Deweyville and do our old tradition and it was a blast. I love Deweyville and the small town feel there is there. Its so fun to see people young and old and where they are in life now. The parade was, as always, a huge success.
Liam even seemed to have a good time minus being terrified by the sirens of the fire truck and ambulance
The candy drop was a little intense with so many big kids not watching out for the little ones so as adults we all picked a kid or two to keep track of. Luckily no one was injured and they all got a candy bag
Another thing that was super nice was the weather. It wasn't hot and we were really able to enjoy the activities without roasting. It even sprinkled a little as we were leaving Deweyville
Before the storm came in it brought some amazing looking clouds
And we got some playing in outside
After dinner the heavens opened up and it poured and got a little chilly. It did clear briefly so we could do sparklers and watch the fireworks across the valley in our hoodies and jog pants...this might be a 4th of July first.
It was a fun day with just enough plans to keep us busy but some great down time to just relax and hang out. Matt made awesome smoked pulled pork and we had yummy sides and dessert. All good get togethers need some kind of awesome food.
