Beach /Rest Day

After 3 days at the park we had scheduled in a break day and decided to spend it swimming at the pool and at the beach. We slept in and got breakfast and then slowly got ready for the day.

Because of a nearby hurricane the waves were huge and we found a safe spot up the beach so we didn't get washed away. We played in the sand and I loved just laying out in the sun and relaxing. Matt played with the girl in the waves but they soon decided they didn't like the salt water and just played in the sand.
Em seemed to really enjoy her first trip to the beach.

They played in the sand, built sand castles, and had snacks.

Em laid on her belly and crawled in the sand it was pretty funny to watch

Because of the waves it created a shelf in the sand and the girls loved walking along and kicking the shelf of snad into the waves

Chasing and feeding the seagulls was also a highlight for the girls

After we were done playing in the sand we walked the pier and once again I was reminded that my fear of heights has gotten worse the older I get. I was sure the girls were going to fall off. We had a fun time running up and down the pier but it was so windy and everyone was hungry we called it quits pretty quickly,

With the crazy waves we did get to see some surfing..which was fun to watch

We stopped on the way home for ice cream and then back to the hotel for the nightly dinner reception...although this was the first one we got to attend since we stayed so late at the park. After dinner we got all prepped and ready for our lunch with the princesses the following day. Both of the girls wanted their hair in curlers. We also painted nails and put princess stickers on them. Matt is so well rounded and painted the girls nails while I got the stickers ready.
It was a nice down day spent swimming and playing but we were ready for another day at the park
