Oregon Coast Day 4 Depoe Bay to Newport

Hallie slept well and got feeling a little better although still wasn't feeling great. So we let her sleep as long as she could then grabbed breakfast on the run so we could make it to the Devil's Punch Bowl while the tide was still down. We ended up parking at the wrong parking lot and had to load back up and find the correct parking lot. Then we hurried down because we wanted to check out the tide pools as well as the punch bowl while it was empty. This may have been my favorite thing we did. We stopped at a few tide pools but headed straight for the punch bowl.

The girls were a little nervous, as was I, about going into a enclosed circle that would shortly start to feel with water. Hallie started to not feel well after all the excitement to get down to the beach and threw up again in the punch bowl....but then she was up and ready to go again. I don't know how she does it but she was so tough.

We found some cool tide pools in the bowl

The one way in and out unless you could tread water for a very long time

We all survived the bowl and then off to all the tide pools
These shells were crazy and kinda gross

This wall was so cool...God is a master artist
Gracie found this little crab and they followed him around. They were all pretty fascinated unless he came toward them and then they screamed and ran away

Then we stopped at Otter Crest and not only did we see Otters but also some some whales migrating. We had planned to do a whale tour but with Hallie not feeling good we decided against taking her out on a boat on a rocking ocean so it was nice to get to see them this way
The view from our next hotel was amazing. We stayed at the Elizabeth Inn in Newport. Our room over looked the ocean. Breathtaking for sure
We laid around for a bit and finally got some food in Hallie that actually kept down. Then we decided to go try out the aquarium in Newport

We got there just in time to see the trainers feed and train the otters. The kids seemed pretty focused and entertained. Hallie spent most of her trip in the stroller taking it easy

The seals were very entertaining

Can you see the seal/sea lion on the rock behind us?
A nice lady offered to take our picture and then took 26 pictures with her finger in front of our faces so we tried again
The bird cage was a big hit and very entertaining

Matt tried several times to get this recorded just right...but he got it
The tide pool building was cool. They had all the cool creatures we wished we had seen at the tide pools we visited at the beach. We even got to to touch some of them
Then to the depths of the sea...manly sharks

The best way to see the fish is of coarse by laying on the floor...right?

The jelly fish

Then it was time for dinner. We ate at a little restaurant down the street from our hotel. It was beautiful and was a sea front. We loved eating as the waves crashed the beach. The hotel provided a seafood chowder that was super yummy and a great way to start our dinner.
The girls loved the restaurants

Our plan after dinner was to have a fire on the beach with smores but unfortunately a huge storm came thru and it poured for hours. Matt and I were disappointed but the kids were thrilled to swim!

We swam until the hotel announced the warm cookies in the lobby. So we grabbed some cookies and headed to get everyone bathed and ready for bed. That night I woke up feeling super yucky. I think I got what Hallie had.
