Oregon Coast Day 1 Seattle

Friday morning we got up just in time to grab our hotel's breakfast before they closed. Needless to say everyone was really tired. We then did our best to get ready with no stuff to really get ready since our suitcase was still missing. No hair stuff, tooth brushes, or makeup. Luckily the hotel gave us some toothbrushes and paste. Then we headed out for the day but first we grabbed some suckers at the hotels front desk. They were definitely a hit. While the kids enjoyed their suckers we drove to our first destination...

Japanese Gardens!! We got our first experience with the bipolar weather of Oregon. It sprinkled on and off on the way there. We luckily came fully prepared with our rain jacket. After we got thru the entrance the sun came out. The gardens were so beautiful

The girls loved feeding the fish...we had to watch them a couple times they almost fell in

This was about the time the clouds opened and it started to pour. We continued to walk around for a bit then hid under a tree to get away from the rain but that's not fun so we continued to go thru the gardens.

This wall was my favorite

The kids loved playing with the umbrellas and using their raincoat/hoods....for about an hour and then they were freezing and wet

After we left the gardens we went to Gas Works Park. The pictures I had seen looked really cool but when we got there I think we were all a little disappointed. There were homeless people all over and some teenage kids were playing hide and seek in the equipment. Needless to say we didn't stay long. But we got some pics and then headed for the indoors and to get some lunch.

On the way to lunch our late night started to catch up with everyone.
We had a couple restaurants we wanted to check out at Pike Place before we chose one. The market was really cool and there were so many people that I was really glad I had chosen to pack Em in the Ergo we had borrowed.  They had some really cool unique things to see and try.
Hallie and I were fascinated by the beautiful of flowers and if we would have been staying somewhere for multiple nights I would have bought some. I wish they had places like this in Utah
We passed the aquarium on the way to food. It looked like a cool place that maybe we can try out another time
Then we got to the crab pot. We decided that the food looked so good so we got a table and while we waited for it to be ready we found some awesome props to take pics with

I of coarse ate clam chowder at about every place we went. It was so good and my tummy seemed to do ok with it. I had butter garlic shrimp and Matt had an open faced crab melt

Then we headed back to the car...which was a lot farther than we thought. We were tired and it seemed like forever.
On the way back to the hotel we made a stop at the temple. It was a cool but clear evening. We enjoyed wandering around and checking out the grounds. They had some really cool statues on the grounds.

Then our first waterfall and our last stop of the night Snoqualmie Falls.

The pictures don't do this waterfall justice...it was huge! And the water spray reached all of the view points.

And when we got back to the hotel we had an amazing surprise.....our missing suitcase! I have never been so happy to see a suitcase.
Then we grabbed some Panda Express since we had eaten a late lunch and were so tired we opted to do take out and went to bed early hoping to catch up some sleep. Now on to the rest of our vacation.
